Hello,

I am writing today to file a formal complaint against HugeDomains, NameBright, DropCatch, and TurnCommerce.  All companies owned by the same individual, Andrew Reberry.  I purchased the domain (((REDACTED))) in March 2017 with a payment plan from HugeDomains.com and was not given full access to the domain until the payment plan final payment in November 2017, I paid $1793 for this domain in total.  The domain was then pushed through to me on NameBright.com and it was too be good for one year from that date for its registration in November (time of full ownership), at which time then the registration would need to be renewed or I would be able to transfer it out of NameBright and to my normal web host.  I was in the stages of starting my company and left the website to sit ‘parked’ while a design team I hired for $349 a month was building a website for me.

Fast forward to 4 months later, I attempted to sign into my domain and was locked out.  I contacted NameBright support who, after several emails later; tells me the domain expired and was released to the public and subsequently sold – right out from under my feet.  During the immediate period before it was stolen from me and sold, I had filed a trademark on the name which was placed in the gazette with the USPTO for pending approval.  I have reason to believe Namebright/Hugedomains maliciously stole my domain from me prior to its true expiration period of what should have been November 2018 and resold it at a premium to another company, who now has it listed for $20,000.  I contact this other company and they told me they would sell it back to me for the price I paid to Hugedomains, which I feel is robbery after already paying one company and this happening.  I don’t have the money to re-buy my own domain name after I barely owned it for 3 months after paying it off when Namebright stole it and resold it for profit.

The internet is littered with accounts of this happening to many people, and there needs to be a class action lawsuit brought upon Hugedomains/namebright/andrew reberry on this deceptive practice.  Too many innocent and hard working people who are trying to build a company of their own are being taken advantage of online and no one is paying the price for it.  I have spent months researching what occurred here, and would like to ask your help in filing a report against this company.  This needs to be of record.  I attempted to contact my bank for a chargeback, but it was too late to do so.  So, I am out $1793 from the cost of the domain, plus over $2000 for design fees, and the money from my trademark filing- which is now active.  This could be seen as a case of cybersquatting or other internet violations around my brand.

Please help me to regain my domain or my money lost to this company.

Thank you

Nothing of what I reported above is meant to harm or hurt anyone or the company in anyway.  It was filed as complaint as to what occurred, and whether or not Namebright/Hugedomains truly have malicious intent is up to interpretation.  I believe Internet Law is not complete and still relatively young and more needs to be done to protect consumers in cases like this. Too many loop holes are prevalent and those loopholes are what are reported across the internet by consumers who have also suffered losses similar to mine.

The bottom line is I purchased the website and it was transfered to me in Nov of 2017.  Within 4 months it was expired and resold, when expiration should be 12 months from date of purchase (a loophole).  For a consumer who isn't in the industry, I felt taken advantage of and not protected by a company I did business with and entrusted my money too.  The company would not help in any kind of way after the fact. The timing coinsided with the filing of the trademark, and that is open to interpretation as well.

Should the company wish to resolve this amicably, I am open to do so.

Thank you.
