I was a brand new member of Ibotta and just started submitting my receipts. I got to $5.50 and cashed out right away to make sure it was real. I then cleared another $4.50. I had $22.50 pending. Now, I remind you I am a brand new user. I tried to go to their site which has little information. I couldn't find their shopping lists or anything online.
So all of the sudden out of the blue I get this message from Ibotta that my account has been deactivated. Now these people won't respond to my e-mails. Ibotta has ripped me off. I am owed the money. I save my receipts on my computer so they aren't lost. Ibotta claims the receipt was "tampered" with because I sent it from the online copy. It's 2 days old!! It was not altered in ANY way! These people are unbelieveable! I didn't know this "rule" or I wouldn't have done it.
Now they have zeroed out my account and won't respond.
IBOTTA is FRAUD!

My account was deactivated and I contacted you throubh the Better Business Bureau because your competitors accept submissions online (photos of receipts) uploaded to the computer. You reactivated my account only to DEACTIVATE it as soon as the Better Business Bureau Complaint was closed. You are liars and thieves. The manufacturer confirmed you submitted multiple receipts for rebates that you claimed were "invalid". There's both a police investigation and an investigation ongoing (now by the manufacturers) for fraud.

Ibotta Terms of Use
AUTHOR: Ibotta - ()

Our system has several fraud checks in place to ensure the validity of each user’s submission. Each time a receipt submission is marked as fraudulent, we message the user letting them know the error and our receipt submission requirements. After multiple fraudulent submissions, we deactivate a user’s account.
As noted by the user in their initial case description, the user collected receipts from friends and family and submitted them to Ibotta. Several submissions were flagged in our system for duplicate receipt submission, a violation of section 10.3 of our Terms of Use where a user may not upload receipts uploaded by another user, for the purpose of earning credit from Ibotta for purchasing products not actually purchased by the user.
Upon deactivation this user wrote into our support team, whom reactivated the user’s account, letting them know why their receipt submissions were invalid. Our support team explained that we are unable to accept receipts outside of their original form, which includes photo copies of original receipts. At this time, the user’s account still remains active. However, as the user is submitting invalid submissions, we are unable to credit the user for several rebates.
To resolve this matter, we recommend the user reviews our receipt requirements and our Terms of Use so they may continue to participate with Ibotta. They may also contact our support team for further clarification on approved and prohibited user conduct. Again, as the user in not complying with our receipt submission requirements to redeem user rewards, we are unable to credit the user for the amount in question.
