My husband and I visited our local DirectBuy warehouse and as an incentive were given a free Marriott vacation. All we had to do was send in a $50 handling fee (which we did) with the filled out form. Nothing was said about another form that had to be filled out or anymore money that had to be sent in until after they got their initial $50. They have so many black-out dates that travel is virtually impossible. There are so many "terms and conditions" that no one that visits the warehouse in the May, June, July or August can even hope to use their travel vouchers. We tried on several ocassions to get travel dates booked without having to pay an additional fee that was sometimes upward of $100/night and never in a Marriott hotel but without any success. After much frustration, aggravation and them calling us liars, we decided to ask for our original money back and split ties with this despicable company.

We reported them to the Attorney General of Arizona and he found no wrong doing on their part. Seems they lied to him about how they handled everything with us. Even called us liars yet again. They came back to us and offered us a "free" cruise. All we had to do was pay a $150/handling fee. This handling fee was supposedly for port taxes and fees. But when we checked into it further, we found that we were going to have to pay these anyway so what was this handling fee for? We could never get a straight answer and once again cut ties with this company. To this day, we have never gotten our promised free gift from either DirectBuy or Infinity Incentive Group.

Fees, Fees, Fees, Do Not a Free Vacation Make

AUTHOR: sevensmom2 - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 07, 2013

Again and for the last time.... fees on top of fees do not a FREE vacation make. Not to mention black out dates that make taking the vacation virtually impossible! No one there TRIED to work with us! They tried to DICTATE to us when we could take our vacation. How is that a vacation? Look up the word FREE in the dictionary and you will totally understand why we are so upset. Every time we tried to book our vacation, we were told that we were going to have to pay premiums (fees).

The terms and conditions are impossible for anyone to plan a vacation around when in the retail business. We tried to explain this and no one there seems to understand the concept of retail. Retail is where you go and shop. Anywhere you go and purchase something in a store is a retail store. Things operate differently in those environments than anywhere else. People who work in those environments are at the mercy of holidays and cannot just take off whenever they dang well please. We have to work those days and the weeks leading up to them.

The only good time for us to travel usually is during the summer when everyone else is traveling but unfortunately that is when all your vouchers are blacked out. So see, we tried to work with the people in your organization, it was the people in your organization who were very cold and uncaring towards us and our needs and were very demeaning towards us leaving us with no other recourse except to contact the attorney general's office for the state of Arizona to hopefully get some closure to this situation. So exactly where is our free gift now? We have still yet to receive it.

Dear Lynia,

Again, Infinity reiterates that we did indeed present you with travel options for just the required taxes as your fee.  We diligently tried to work with you on multiple occasions yet you declined every offer that was presented to you.

We wish you the best in the future.

Sincerely,

Customer Support
