First of all J& J has 2 locations. One in Fort Lauderdale and one in Margate. My car broke down on I95 and Griffin on New Year's eve. I travel from Miami to Fort Lauderdale very regular (2-5 times per day) and have family/friends that travel these cities daily as well.

Although I was unable to move the car, I passed it frequently and people were calling me daily to question if that was my car they saw.On January 2, around 10am I went to the car as I mistakenly left my debit card and a $20 bill in it. At this time the driver door panel had been removed and the radio (which has a cd forever jammed it) was gone. The money and debit card were still there though (lol)I saw the car again later that day while passing around 1:30pm.

I returned later in the evening with a tow truck to find that the car was gone, I wasnt surprised that it was gone, I mean It had been over 2 days.

I called FHP to get the name of the towing company, and the operator mention the report said the car was missing left tire(s)She wasnt sure if it was one or two. Upon contacting the tow company they told me that the car didnt have any rims or tires on it and thats the reason FHP had contacted them.

Long story short... I tried to speak directly to the trooper by sending a message through dispatch. The troopers response was that he remembered the car, it was there for a week???

The rims were nothing chrome but they werent factory either. Who would take four tires off a car on I95 in mid-day between the last time I saw the car (approximately 1:30pm) and the time they towed it (about 3:30pm) The trooper obviously should have been there before the tow truck since they both sign the report of the condition of the car right and he initiated the tow.

Also they passed their Fort Lauderdale location and took it to Margate, then sent me a certified bill that included charges for mileage and gas. They said my car is stored on rotors and when I pick it up they will put it outside their gate on the rotors.

Talk about a dirty business! I wish I was aloud to really express myself, thanks to the rules of ripoffreport.com they shall be spared. May God be with them all, that they get further education and life experiences to better themselves morally.

What are they supposed to do for you

AUTHOR: Marc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 04, 2007

You want them to buy rims and tires for you or what?
You abandoned your car and now it's stripped, how is that anyone's fault but your own? Or are you implying the tow company stripped your car? Tow companies can get as many tires and rims as they want, and for free, they don't have to steal from customers. I give tires away every day, there is no shortage. We can get buried in them in no time without stealing.

I can pull your wheels off your car in less than 5 minutes

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

I can use a portable air tank, and a low rider floor jack, and snatch them in less than 5 minutes. Have locks on the wheels? I don't care. I have a set of lock removal sockets that work on 100% of the OEM and aftermarket lock-lugs. If anyone stops and questions what i am doing, I'll say "I am making sure nobody else gets these". The odds of the owner of the vehicle being the one to ask, are ZERO.

A good working team of professionals can have your entire car stripped down to the subframe in that amount of time...right there on the side of the highway. NASCAR pit crews have nothing on those guys.

Don't believe me? Ask anyone in NY. They have stripped down shells laying all over the place.

You say it was there for 2 days. You admit it was broken into during that time. In reality, it was probably there for a week, just like the Trooper said. It sat there with an orange sticker(after 24 hours) on the window, and got towed. Thieves look for cars with that sticker.

It doesn't matter who towed it, or where it was towed to. Tow companies operate on a "rotation". The Trooper called the derelict(proper term for an abandoned and damaged vehicle)in, and the dispatcher contacted the next tow company on the rotation list. There mat be a tow company 50 feet away from the vehicle. It doesn't matter. If the next one on the list is 50 miles away, that's who gets the call.

They sent a roll-back, and hauled the vehicle back to their lot. A month later, you complain.

Nice try. Try again.
