Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC Company Wants Me To Open A Credit Card To Pay Off Disputed Debt St. Cloud Minnesota

I received a letter from Jefferson Capital Systems, Inc stating they are offering me a credit card to pay off a debt that is currently being collected by North Star Capital Acquisitions.

I called the number to find out what this debt even was and come to find out, it was a debt that I disputed with the credit agencies years ago because I did not open that account. The company was found not valid and it was removed from my credit report.

Well, the lady tells me that I have to pay this debt anyways and that it would be easer for me to open this credit card account (which I would have to pay $242.00 just to open) and then pay the debt in monthly payments adding up to $673.00.

I don't think so. I am the type of person that keeps everything and I still have my copies of my original disute letter along with the letters I received from the credit agencies and the new credit reports that were changed afterwards.

Well, I asked the lady how I get in contact with this NorthStar place, but unfortunately she did not have an address or phone number and said I should just look them up on-line.

I did that and there appears to be no such compnay as North Star Capital Acquisitions (as far as being a collection agency).

I will be checking my credit report, and if I see anything on there about this "new" old debt, they will hear about it.

Has anyone else had this happen or even know what either of these companies are or how to contact them?
