PLEASE if you are considering have LASIK, PRK or ANY refractive surgery. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Do not let price be your guide. So many people are lured into these bait and switch outfits and then are upset when they have less than optimal results.

Would you have brain surgery if you had NEVER met the surgeon? Of course not! Would you trust the opinion of a non medical "patient consultant?" Of course not!
Ask these people who are doing your exam or testing if they are trained, licensed medical professionals (ie nurse, COA, COT ect)

Ask then how long they have worked in the field and if they have had THEIR surgery with this doctor. DO NOT PAY A SINGLE PENNY until you have had a consultation WITH A DOCTOR. If this is not part of their routine, RUN FOR THE DOOR. Go to a well-known medical professional who has TIES TO THE COMMUNITY. Not someone that these chain stores bring in to do a few cases.

Once you have decided to have surgery, RESEARCH THE PHYSICIAN. The State of Florida has a special website where you can look up medical licenses and see how many lawsuits a doctor has had. I do not remember the website off hand, but I go to Dogpile.com and type in quotes "florida license lookup". If you cannot find it in your state call the state department of health and they will direct you to the site. These are your eyes and you only have two.
