I visited the Lasik vision Institute on Sat Oct 29th to possibly have lasik Vision Correction. I spoke with a man on the phone and set up an appointmen. His name was Scott Warner.
He told me over the phone that all I would need was 120 dollars down and I could get my vision correction. I had the exam done and at the end of the exam they ran my credit card and then told me I would need 600 dollars down.
I refused the surgery because of the false promises I was made over the phone. They told me they would refund me or give me a credit at the eyeglass place to get glasses or contacts. I chose to recieve a full refund. The manager Shelby gave me a reciept for the refund on my card and told me I was all set.
Later I found out they took the money out of my account anyways which over drew my bank account.I called them and asked them why they debited my account and they told me that my refund would take 7 days to recieve, which they DID NOT inform me of after the refund was supposivly given.
So I have been waiting for this refund and still have not recieved it. I have been calling them for over a week now and they ignore and do not return my calls. I called their corporate office and didnt recieve any help there either.
Two charges came through my account and I was charged 28 dollars a piece for those two charges. Now I am in the hole 176 dollars and havent recieved a penny back. These people are just there to bait you and take your money. DO NOT go to these people for Lasik Surgery!! They all are uncooperative and have very rude attitudes.
When I finally got through to the manager I had him fax me a letter for my bank stating that I was not informed about the 7 day time for a refund or that my card was not going to be credited back right away. He sent me a letter for my bank LYING saying that I knew about their refund process.
Well, I was never once told about it and if I had I would not have gone out and over drafted my account. 176 bucks isnt a whole lot of money to some people, but it is for me just before Christmas for my kids to have some good gifts. DO NOT do business with these people!!! They are not there to help you one bit.

they refused a credit card refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The day I was there they told me they were refunding my card and gave me a reciept, I sent it to my bank and my bank told me that the card was run with my knowledge so they could not over turn my overdraft charges. The manager swore up and down that my card was being refunded and now it turns out that they want to send me a check in the mail!!!!!!!!!! LIES LIES LIES!!! They never were going to refund my card at all!!!! After days and days of trying to talk to the manager I finally got a hold of him and he told me the credit card refund would take 7-10 days, BULLCRAP!!!!! Its automatic!!, it only takes a day or two for processing!! Also as iot turns out I need to try to get the refund from SHANNON OPTOMETRY whom they take their payments for the eye exams!! Managers are squirrly and decieptful over there and DO NOT tell you the truth!!

Give your bank a *copy* of that credit receipt where they gave you the refund. Tell them that apparently the credit never came thru the system. They should fix it immediately. That receipt is all that you need. You do not have to deal with the merchant any more. The bank will call them if they want to. When they run the machine in "refund" mode, you get the money back the next day or sooner, just as fast as they took it out.
If your bank won't fix it immediately, look at the back of your statement for the procedure to formally dispute a charge in writing. Follow it exactly to dispute the original charge. Explain that the merchant promised a refund but didn't do it.
