I spoke with Sam in your department today and he requested that I write you this letter and explain my problem. As of Monday September 16, 2008 I am without air. I have 7 children 5, 8 and under ( 2-8's, 7, 6, 3 ) I do have two A/C units the other is in my master bed room and one other bed room and at this time we have two window units one on the second floor and one in the kitchen. The problem I have is that the unit was installed in Mid-June of 2002 and I have had a lot of problems with this unit as follows.

There are other tickets I will find them and forward if necessary. And enclosed you will find the invoice from McWilliams & Sons, Inc. stating that the compressor is bad again!!!
I am growing weary in the fact that I am throwing good money after bad; the fact is I could have bought a NEW unit for the money I have spent keeping this BAD unit running. The warranty is not any good if I have to keep spending money to keep it running.
So the only way to resolve this matter is for LENNOX to have a NEW unit put in with a FULL warranty to compensate for all the trouble I and my family has gone thru or REFUND ALL our money $6,330.00 this is not including the other invoices that I have but to speed the process up we will accept $6,330.00 if sent within 15 days. Please keep in mind that we are WITHOUT air since 09/16/2008.
I spoke with Jeff West about the unit today. Jeff and the rep from Schmitt both told me over the phone (without looking at the equipment that it was an installation problem but both refused to put it in writing. The refusal to put it in writing is either to protect the installer which would mean the unit is bad and Lennox would be liable or it is installed incorrectly and Jack's Shore Breeze, Inc. (who was an authorized Lennox dealer) would be liable. Either way I am getting the short end of the stick!
My request is to either have the unit replace with a new unit or get a refund of $6,249.00. I have spent $4,200.00 on the unit new and $2,049.00 to repair a bad unit.
Today I contacted the Federal Trade Commission on this matter.
