In March 2010 I bought 2 purses from Lillian Vernon on-line. In April 2010 I began having health problems that continued the rest of the year. So today I'm working on my tax return and I find unauthorized charges from "LV Rewards," $14.95 a month beginning in April and continuing the rest of 2010 (I don't have my Jan 2011 credit card statement yet). I could not find LV Rewards until Google took me to Ripoff, and then I found someone else had the same problem. There's no way to contact LV except through customer service on line. I wrote:

I'm finding a series of charges on my Mastercard as I prepare my tax return. It took awhile to find out who "LV Reward" is. It's you. 14.97 a month commencing April 5, 2010 and so far, through 12/10, 9 months. I am shocked. All I did was buy 2 purses in March for $50.95. $134.55 must be credited back to my Mastercard immediately. Do NOT make any more charges to my Mastercard. You should be ashamed.

I don't understand how you could have missed a recurring charge month after month if you review your credit card statement monthly.

If you had reviewed your April billing statement the month you recieved it, you would not have had this issue. From your post it sounds like you just now reviewed your credit card statements. If so, then it is your fault for not managing your credit card accounts.

IMO, it is not right that these companies charge for monthly reward type programs unless you specifically signed up for them (with full knowledge). HOWEVER, in this instance it is equally your fault because you are just now contesting a charge that has shown up every month for thepast nine months.

I hope you will get some of your money back, but I doubt it. If you look up the terms and conditions for Lillian Vernon rewards program it will detail the contact information for you to cancel the service.

To stop this in the future, read all of your statementseach and every month immediately upon receiptand check each charge to make sure it is yours and that you authorized it. If you do this, you can catch extraneous charges and put a stop to them immediately.
