First of all I am a supporter of Community Advertising.  However, when my business was hurting and I had to cut back on expenses, EVERY vendor worked with me to help support my small business and get us back on track EXCEPT N2.  My local rep abandoned me by telling me my contract was with N2, not her.  She gave me the home office email and phone number and that was the extent of the support I received locally.  I placed several calls to N2 home office pleading for help - no response.  I sent emails asking for someone to call - I got a canned response that N2 only deals with customers via email.  I sent emails to individuals on the N2 team site and never received the courtesy of a return call.  

If you have the choice to work with any other Community Advertiser, I would suggest you use N2 AS A LAST RESORT.

We're very sorry to hear about your hard times with your business and your subsequent negative experience with N2. At risk of sounding disingenuous, we must say that we understand where you're coming from. Though N2 is a national company, our sales representative (the one who manages the N2 publication in your area) is a small business owner as well. Essentially, the representative you met with is in charge of selling a product, delivering to consumers, and making a living -- just like all small business owners.

 

Instead of the typical "buy it from the store" business method, however, our business relies on advertising agreements to generate revenue. These agreements are focused on building relationships with the residents of our neighborhoods through repeated exposure over years. This relationship-based approach makes our longer agreements unique, but we also know that relationships take time.

 

We know that long-term contracts are not the right solution for every business, so we inform everyone who signs our Advertising Agreement that the agreement is noncancelable. There is a clause on the second page of your advertising agreement with us that is bolded and capitalized that outlines our noncancelation stance.

 

Again, we are terribly sorry about your negative experience with N2. In efforts to protect our own small business owners, we only offer agreements that are noncancelable. It is our hope that -- with the over 34,000 advertisers we serve -- that our agreement is clear and that our consumers purchase our services with this information in mind.
