I lost my job in Aug of 2009 and was unemployed for a coupe of months.  Fortunately, or so I thought,  I had the credit card protection plan.  It took forever for them to make a payment, but I had been making the payments anyway.  So, in Dec of the same year, they increased my interest rate from 11.9% to 16.9%, which is a lot becaue I had owed $12,000 on it.  They said it was because of government regulations that they had to "review" my account, but I believe it was because I used the protection plan.  They said they went based off of my credit score which at the time had dropped, it was around 680.

I complained about it, but they said they could do nothing about it.  I even got contradicting emails that they sent me via their website, but they deleted the emails.  If only I had printed them out.  I have been fighting them ever since.  So, in January I talk to a supervisor about it, and she said they were going to be reviewing my account in February.  February comes around and my account did not get reviewed.  I talked to another supervisor and she said she was going to email the Lending Committee to see why my account was overdue and call me back in a couple of days.

Of course I never got a call back, so I waited 5 days and called back.  I talked to another supervisor and she said that my interest rate could not be lowered because I did not meet the criteria.  I have a credit score of 740 and have never missed a payment, so I asked her what criteria did I not meet.  She told me that they were not obligated to give me that information.  So, I told her that you can't tell somebody they did not meet the criteria and not tell them what the criteria is, I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said she is not here.  B.S.  So, I told her to have her supervisor call me, I am still waiting for a call!!!
