I purchased net detective for $29.00 thinking that they could obtain addresses from license plate numbers. All their software did was to redirect me to my local DMV website. In California, you can't get this information if the other driver does not want you to have it.

I immediately tried to get a refund and could not find a way to contact them. Once you are in their site you can't click on a button to get a refund. You have to exit the site and reenter it like you are a new customer, click on the 100% unconditional satisfaction guarantee and request a refund form. This will take a day of so to get to you via email. You then have to fill it out and mail it back to them. This practice is illegal.

If you take money over the internet with a credit card you have to refund in the same way via the same route. I have yet to receive my refund, however, I stopped payment with the Amex. Do not, I repeat, do not purchase Net Detective.
