Attracted by a NETFLIX advertisement, offering FREE DOWNLOADS, my son wanted to download a movie. So we entered the site for free trial. of course they ask for credit card confirmation. After registering, we checked out the free movies. all very limited, louzy movie selection.

So we immediately followed the instructions to cancel the subscription and the free trial. This was in the spring. At the end of the summer, I was checking my credit card bills to find THREE MONTHS of charges from NETFLIX. NOT ONLY DID WE IMMEDIATELY CANCEL, WE DID NOT EVEN DOWNLOAD OR ORDER ANY MOVIES. NOT ONE. NEFLIX CAUSED ME TO BE OVERDRAWN AT MY BANK. I immediately went on-line to contact someone about this problem, and I will tell you, with all their fancy internet site, there is nowhere to find an email address, nor a contact or a phone number to report this abuse. NOWHERE.

So the best we could do is to cancel the account again. SCAM #2, you need to have a NETFLIX PASSWORD to get on to cancel your account. very funny. as if who would remember the password on a subscription that they immediately cancelled. NOBODY. Fortunately I let my son come up with the password that day. and he used his standard. So we got on and cancelled. What happens to people who cannot remember the password. I don't recall a provision for not remembering a password like most sites. I left several messages on NETFLIX custom service internet to the point of SPAMMING them to get them to contact me. No response from NETFLIX. They ripped me off and screwed up my bank account causing me more charges.

NETFLIX SCAM - After CANCELLATION BUTTON..must do survey or it is not cancelled.

AUTHOR: Pceleste - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 04, 2008

WHO WOULD SPEND TIME WITH A SURVEY FOR A SERVICE THEY DONT WANT - AFTER THEY PRESS THE CANCELLATION BUTTON ???
THIS IS CLEARLY JUST PART OF THE NETFLIX SCAM. BIG COMPANIES TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE.. TIME FOR A CIVIL SUIT !!!!

SUMMER 2007 - After cancelling NETFLIX immediately after finding out their free downloads consisted of bad movies,

NOVEMBER 2007 I find out a six months later that they had been charging me all along $5.24 a month. We couldnt find a phone number that didnt have an automated dead-end. We went back on line to the site. And the account. After trying several passwords, my son chose the right password. Against our wishes, we still had an account at Netflix. FOR THE SECOND TIME, we cancelled the account.

Keep in mind, we did not receive ANY, not one movie, free or otherwise, from Netfix.

Tried to recoup the money but there is no working number or email that responded. I even used every Netfix customer service email available Repeatidly with no response.

JANUARY 2008 - I get an email from NETFLIX saying that my credit card number is not working, and to call there number 1-877-638-3549.

AFTER OVER AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH THEIR OREGON OFFICE.

I speak to a DALE. Dale credits the account that wouldnt work.

I tell him that I no longer have that account and I want my money back. He says it was his mistake. He should not have processed the account to the bank

I tell him to send it to my new bank account. He says he cannot. He already sent it to the other bank (that I no longer have).

CANCELLATION BUTTON: Dale says that there is a cancellation BUTTON but it does not work unless you deal with the SURVEY after that. If you dont acknowledge the survey, according to Dale, then the Cancellation does not process. THIS IS A SCAM !!!

I ask for a supervisor Kiera B, who was useless, then ask for her supervisor, Sarah J. who supposedly runs the Oregon office.. Sarah J. was useless, and give me who Corporate Number -1-408-540-3700. to talk to someone there.

BOTTOM LINE, I have spent hours dealing with netflix for a few months fees. And caused quite a bit of aggravation.

As I told SARAH J. the manager of that Portland Oregon Netflix office, I am very well educated, and Netflix scammed me on their CANCELLATION BUTTON. I can only wonder how other people they cheat particularly the elderly, people with limited education, or people with little grasp of English.

NETFLIX is getting too big for its own shoes. They are ripping people off and not responding. THEY NEED A CLASS ACTION SUIT.

Not True

There is a 1-800 # on their website as well as email support. Also, you are partly at fault for not checking your credit card statements every month. That is how people get taken for identity fraud...they don't stay on top of their statements/credit reports and then want to blame the banks/companies.
