i am another unhappy newegg customer. i ordered a new computer system, the money came out of my account. then they told me the bank could not verify my address so they could not sent me my order. funny how they did not have to verify anything to take my money it appears to only affect shipping. by the way, i work for my bank and i know all the information is correct and they don't know what the problem is. amazon.com (a really great company by the way!) has no problems with verifying my address. I hope I get my money back.

Credit Card Fraud

I just received my credit card bill yesterday and noticed two charges from newegg for almost $300. 

I immediately contacted Visa and told them I didn't order anything from this company and wanted the charges disputed.  What's funny is that newegg is refusing to tell Visa where these items were shipped to.  The reason?  I would think it's clearly because they never verified anything with me or my credit card company.  They just shipped out the items even though the billing and shipping information clearly didn't matchup. 

Anyway, Visa has told me not to pay for the charges and they will be dealing with this. 

Newegg seems to be a complete joke of a company when it comes to resolving any issues.  What company would refuse to tell anyone where something was shipped?

newegg in a sense is programed to respond to these with everything thier told to respond by to emails, never get a true answer out of them.


think of buying from newegg or amazon or any other the same way you would buy a cell phone,in a sense as it
"in which way are you going to get screwed over" well everyone scams everybody, the trick is to find the one service or company thats going to screw you over by the lesser,!!!!
personaly i would never order from either sites as ive never found a possitive thing about them or thier preset statement email responses,
as my company doesnt pull the bait and hook scheme on you and all prob go directicly thru me not some rep on the pc answering your q from a prestated website,thats the goal keep leading you on ,then your warrenty expires and so forth,they scammed you, i replaced items all the time at my cost and never negatively commented on a customer,>
newegg and many other have built thier rep up so now they dont do favors so to speak they just sell lemons!!!!!!!!!

Amazon is better than newegg? Since when?

Every time I order a new book from amazon (not from marketplace, directly from amazon), it is damaged and packing consists of tossing in box with a few sealed air packs laying in there. I atually got a paperback with the cover torn. Newegg packs better.

Newegg - password fine. Amazon - password typed in document, copied into password change, copied again from same document to log in and it says password incorrect.

Newegg is great, Amazon is a pain in the behind.

I didn't have a problem with newegg even when shipping to a UPS store box!

I'm sorry about your experience with NewEgg. But I've done business with them for quite some time and feel they are the best, if not the only, company to be trusted.

A few things about your statement. True if you type "NewEgg Sucks" in Google, results will show. Same if you type in "Wal-Mart Sucks" or "Jesus Sucks". From this site alone, I've only found maybe 2 or 3 legitimate complaints about NewEgg.

My first order with NewEgg seemed to be the worst and it wasn't even bad at all. They had to confirm my address which delayed my shipment by 3-4 days. I complained on resellerratings.com and they responded 1. On that website 2. They emailed me 3. They even called me (which is almost non-existant for a retailer or merchant to do). Not only did they refund my whole purchase, they let me keep the item AND sent me 2 boxes of free gifts. I continued to use them ever since and have had nothing but excellent transactions.

I just wished that more companies were at least half as ethical as NewEgg.

My order arrived in a timely manner, but the lcd monitor was defective

For the person who replied to my report I do not care what you think my motives are. I only "put in a plug for Amazon.com" as an example of what internet shopping should be like, it is not like they compete directly with newegg they do not even sell computer parts that I am aware of. Yes my account was charged BEFORE my shipping address was verified and I had to wait a week before the funds were avalible so i could order. I was persuaded to try newegg again after talking to one of their better customer service reps.

My order arrived in a timely manner, but the lcd monitor was defective, a line of vertical lit pixels ran the entire length of the screen. The power supply of the case blew out after about 20 minutes(not a big surprise it was a cheap one that was included with the case) and the floppy drive was defective. The monitor manufactuer was suprisingly difficult to reach so i contacted newegg and they got me a phone number and that problem is now resolved. In fact the customer service rep. I got this time has really gone out of the way to help me, perhaps I just was unlucky in my first attempt ordering from them.

However, as for your comments concering their reviews that does not hold water. I posted a negative review of the monitor, and it never showed up. I emailed newegg to find out why and was told that they do not post reviews on their site that talk negativly about the products or newegg because they cannot verify negative comments. Is that not the point of a review?? If you cannot verify negative comments how can you verify positive ones, and how am i supposed to use the reviews to help me if they do not includ anything negative? And if you think I am the only unhappy newegg customer, try typing in "newegg sucks" or "newegg ripoff" into google.


Anyway, after all that I have to say that they made things right in the end. Maybe they are just going through some growing pains as a company, I just hope they continue to listen to customer input.

Promoting another vendor by bashing Newegg?

I have done many thousands of dollars of business with Newegg.com over the past 4 years and am very familiar with their order fulfillment system.

Newegg has an automated 5-step process for filling orders. Step 1 is verification of the credit card AND shipping address. I have never had my card charged until BOTH of these were verified. Every time I have ordered, I receive a verification email from Newegg. See below for an example (I have removed my personal info for privacy):

Once, I needed to ship items to an address different from my credit card billing address and Newegg required me to contact my credit card issuer to allow an alternate address BEFORE they would bill my card.

The few RMA's I have had to do went without a hitch.

I have never dealt with a more reliable vendor than Newegg, and I wonder what Paul's motives are when he says "ANOTHER unhappy Newegg customer", as if there is a long list, and puts in a plug for Amazon.com (and I agree - also a great company).

I just couldn't sit by and let Newegg be bashed. Go to their site and you'll see hundreds of product reviews with the phrase "Newegg rocks" in about 90% of them.
