Charged me a 15% restocking fee for returning memory that was never opened or used (still sealed in the original box). There was no mention of the restocking fee when I placed the order. When I complained, they refused to refund the fee. This is nothing more than an attempt to profit from fees, as they incurred, at most, nominal costs in taking back unopened merchandise (certainly not the $20 they charged me).
Also beware that they charge an extra $3.99 for rush order processing, but all orders ship at the same time.

It's Their Policy

Just because you got charged a 15% restock, which they charge for anything returned that is your own fault for buying incorrectly, you get angry. That's not a ripoff, that's you not liking the fact that they have to take the time to recieve the product back from you, open it, inspect it to make sure it wasn't opened, then cart it off back to the bin. They have to pay people to do this you know. It doesn't magically float back to it's bin all nice and tidy. Pay attention next time to what you are buying and their return policy. If you don't like it, don't buy it from them. Sheesh.

Not very helpful and certainly doesn't inspire much confidence in the firm if they are paying someone to make comments on these sites. (I'm not saying they do, I just wonder why this Ken guy is trawling through ripoff report and posting on Newegg complaints)
Get a hobby Ken.

and you're still an idiot who DIDN'T read the return policy.
Then when the company enforces the policy, YOU claim Ripoff...what a joke you are.
I don't think they'll miss you at all..Jerk.

Reread my Complaint

NewEgg Employee Ken:
Compare NewEgg's return policy with that at legitimate customer-service oriented businesses such as Amazon, Target, and Nordstrom's.
NewEgg has lost my business forever, and the business of those who research this company before buying. There are better alternatives to NewEgg that are just as cheap and really care about their customers.

NewEgg Agreed To Refund But Never Issued It

NewEgg finally agreed to refund the 15% restocking charge, but it's been over a week and they never refunded my credit card. I contacted them 4 times to follow up, but they ignored me each time.

You must work at Newegg if you believe charging 15% for returning an unused item, still sealed in the original box, is justifiable or rationally related to any actual costs they incurred. These fees are a ripoff and have no business justification"
But I have learned to read return policies before ordering online...looks like YOU don't.
I do a lot of shopping on sites I trust to avoid problems like this. It also helps to be SURE you are ordering what you really want before hitting "submit order."
If it makes you feel better, you can believe I really work for Newegg. I've now been accused of working for over forty companies. Better see why they're not paying me.
