Oakwood Acceptance Corp rip-off! Liars! Dishonest! Greensboro North Carolina

I bought an Oakwood home in 1994. When I got the home they would not let me inspect it on the lot. They said do to regulations I could not see the home until it was set up on the lot.

When I finally got to see the home it was all wrong. The bathroom had the wrong bathtub and was supposed to be carpeted and it wasn't. They gave me the wrong curtains. The cabinets were suppose to be real cherry wood and they were cheap fakes. I was never refunded the difference. When I finally got the tub I wanted it was put in wrong and I was bruised by the sharp point on the tub suround every time I got into the tub.

In 2000 I had tried for a year to sell the mobile home with no sucess and Oakwood Homes told me I could voluntart surrender the home to them and I would not own them anything on the home regardless of what they sold it for. Just a few weeks ago I got a letter from a collection agency Syncom stating I owed Oakwood homes $11554.64 from a defficiency when the mobile home was sold in 2001.

This is the first I heard anything from them in over 3 years. According to Delaware Consumer department they should have notified me when they sold the trailer and they didn't. Now I am being harrassed by Syncom stating Oakwood would settle out of court for $5000.00 but I had 24hr to pay them which I do not have the money to pay them anything.

I guess they will just have to take me to court. I don't feel I owe them anything. Truth be told they owe me for all the screw ups they did to my mobil home. I hope a lawyer will come through and file a class action lawsuit against them if so sign me up.
