Office Max Office Depot fraud Reading Pennsylvania

Office Max advertised an offer that provided rebates from them for purchasing paper and batteries. Bought two of each which was supposed to generate a rebate of $47.96. The clerk said I would have it within 4 weeks. When I didn't get it, I called the store manager who said it would arrive by the end of January. Today, Feb 1, it's still not here. Tried to call the store again, but the manager was not available.

Went to the company's online chat and wasted 26 minutes without someone who told me nothing. She said she would have someone call. But the person who called did not even speak English. He eventually said he would transfer me to the USA, and after another long wait did get a woman who speaks English - but she was in the order dept and know nothing abaout rewards problems. So another transfer and another wait.

The final story was that they could not find any record of the purchase even though I have the receipt along with the ads promising the reward.
