Old Republic Home Protection Company Terrible Service And No Protection San Ramon California

Unfortunately I didn't read any of these blogs until I had subscribed to their service and called for help.
I've had OR Home warranty for 4 years and recently called them because my furnace downstairs (dual zone-two unit AC/electric heat system) was blowing air but not heating it.
OR sent out a HVAC tech who looked at the unit for a few minutes and said it was the breaker and I would have to get an electrician. I called OR and they sent out an electrician. The electrician replaced the breaker but said that it was really the heating unit and showed me several burned control wires in air handler. I asked him to relate this to OR. OR sent the HVAC tech back out who replaced the burned wires and left.

20 minutes later the breaker tripped. I called the HVAC company and a few days later they sent another technician who said that it was the 'sequencer'. He replaced the sequencer and the breaker tripped after 15 minutes. He said that he'd be back the next day to fix the problem. He returned two days later and made several wiring changes.

The unit ran for 30 minutes and the breaker tripped. OR called and I suggested they sent another, different company. A few days later a New HVAC tech came out, looked at the unit and said that the unit was miswired. After rewiring the unit and the breaker still tripping he said that the 'heat strips' needed to be replaced and called his boss who apparently said (according to the tech) that there were no replacement parts for the unit. He said he would be back to measure the unit for a new air exchanger. That was when OR called and said that the claim was denied because the unit hadn't been "maintained". I told him that was silly.

That I had five visits from service people in the past 11 days since I called them and none had mentioned that the unit wasn't maintained until they found out that they had to replace the air handler. Plus I had the unit cleaned six months before.

As far as I'm concerned these are not honorable people. And if you read a few of the blogs you'll see that my experience seems to be the standard for this company.
