On 10/30/12 my Dad purchased a vehicle service contract with Omnisure Group, LLC for $2506. He decided that in November 2012 that he did not choose to carry the warranty any longer.
After calling the Chicago toll free number, he was told to call the vendor, Imperial Auto Protection, LLC. This vendor said he should call Omnisure Group again.
After calling Ominisure Group in Chicago, he was told that he could receive a refund prorated to 95% if he sent in a copy of the warranty and a signature for the refund. This information was sent 12/19/12. He was told he would receive a refund of $143.94, pro-rated from the $189.05 he had sent in November 2012.
On January 28, 2013 he received a notice of rejection of Application from Dublin OH, No required name of the company. I am loading this company on social media. If I don't get anything from this at least people will know.

I understand and completely sympathize w the customer’s frustration, unfortunately it is misplaced. I at one time worked for Omnisure Group. The don’t sell anything at all; they’re merely the payment people, so Omnisure shows up on the bill in your mail or your bank statement, but they don’t have the authority to cancel a service contract or to refund any money paid. The issue seems to be the gentleman isn’t even the original customer, but the customer’s son, coming in after the fact to sort things out.
Once a service contract is created (through any of several different companies Omnisure works with), they send the bulk of the money to the company who DID sell the service contract, and the customer makes the payments to Omnisure, that’s how they make money. Think of them as a bank or PayPal if it helps. They may be the one you’re sending money to, but their involvement is much more limited than you may know. Omnisure can only stop future payments from being processed; they can’t cancel your contract for anything other than non-payment, and that’s just something the system would generate automatically, It’s like if you buy something on eBay.
You pay via PayPal. You’re not satisfied and want a refund. Even though the payment went to PayPal, it would be the seller or eBay who would issue the refund. PayPal can’t refund the money because you’re unhappy, they’ve already sent it on the buyer. This is a very common mistake, and a good amount of the calls received. People simply aren’t looking at their paperwork closely or don’t understand it, and of course by the time the call to cancel, they’re far too often too angry to listen.
Unfortunately, while Omnisure Group is a legitimate business, not all of the reps who work for the companies with whom they do business are honest/reputable — their goal is to sell the contract (that’s how they make commission). I’m not sure how it works on the sellers’ end, so I don’t know if the refund comes out of the commission, but when a customer actually does contact them to cancel, they’re far too often given the runaround and either referred back to Omnisure or given an elaborate cancellation procedure. Unfortunately even then, they send cancellation paperwork (or whatever the seller Is requesting) to Omnisure instead of the seller who is requiring it.
I get that it’s a confusing and frustrating process (believe me, it’s not something the reps at Omnisure like either — would you like being called and yelled at all day for something you didn’t do and had no control over?), but it’s not something that Omnisure can control. The sellers decide what’s on the paperwork and more often than not, put Omni’s name and number in bold so they’re the one you call with a problem. After having seen the process from the inside, I honestly wouldn’t advise anyone to buy an extended warranty through a 3rd party, but the fault here doesn’t lie with Omnisure. Unfortunately I don’t think anyone will read this, at least not until they’ve already purchased a service contract, want to cancel and are pissed off; however, I hope this clears up some confusion.

Rip off! Omnisure insurance company sold me a policy and charged my credit card each month. When dealership looked for my extended warranty it showed no known existing
policy. I also called and canceled my policy to learn my credit card was still being charged. If you wish to purchase a extended policy it is best to get it from the dealership you purched the vehicle from to start with.also to purchase the extended warranty before the original warranty is up. Live and learn. Those adds they send in the mail are all junk. Also remember to purchase gap insurance if you are financing a large amount. That way if your vehicle gets totaled out it will pay the remainding loan off.
