I just paid off my balance at Orchard Bank and two days later was charged $99.99 for a charge that was listed back in May of 2007. I asked them if they were in the practice of letting charges go through that were unauthorized and went back 7 months. The customer service person assured me they did not and asked if I wanted the phone number. I asked him if he knew what the word Fraud meant. I told him I was filing a charge of fraud against his company or the company that sent the charges forward. He assured me that it would be off of my credit card within 5 working days. That would be next Friday.
I too have torn up all those stupid checks they send forward. I am not holding my breath that they will remove the charges either. I am contacting the Attorney General for Washington and California. I am sending these complaints forward with my complaints. I am tired of these companies ripping off people that have less than perfect credit. They are counting on us feeling helpless. They should pay us money for all the stress they cause us. And the time spent trying to right the wrongs they cause.

Did you buy something in May for $99.95 that was never presented? If you did, then it's not a rip off. It's just late posting of a transaction. A company can't present an item to your acct unless they receive an authorization # or a receipt from the merchant it was purchased from. If you didn't buy something for this amount, don't get mad @ the company. Just simply file a fraud dispute and move on.
