Palisades Collections - Asta Funding Why no lawsuit? ripoff Englewood Cliffs New Jersey

Contacted today by Palisades Collections, LLC. The caller refused to give his name or address when I told them I wanted a DV. He turned me over to the "dispute department" which was bogus since no one ever came back on the line.

Called them back immediately and told the person who finally answered the phone that I was taping this call (legal in Oklahoma) and he said, "good--I'm taping you, too." I asked, and got, their address.

The stupid thing about all this is that it is on a debt from 1998 that was paid in full by settlement to MBNA. I have gotten calls about this from every bottom feeder on the planet. I'm getting so good at writing DV letters that my computer practically writes them itself.

The last collector to call was Love, Beal and Nixon. They even went so far as to try and validate the debt 14 months AFTER I asked them to validate. Then they tried to take me to court! My attorney wrote them with noises about a counter-suit and they went away. Apparently just after they sold my non-existent SOL exempt debt to someone else.

Palisades needs to be involved in a class-action suit. They are really hurting people out there. AND THEY'RE ON THE NY STOCK EXCHANGE! How can we go about getting Palisades to stop? We, the consumers, have the power. Let's stand up and use it!
