PeopleFinders.com Auto Enrollement Fraud Internet

I was trying to get an updated cell phone number for a relative and used the site. They hadfree information on this person with the old number. They said for a special rate of $.95 they had additional info and phone number. I put the$.95 on a credit card . Thephone number they gave in the additional information was to The National Liver Transplant Hotline.

Two weeks later I got the credit card bill with the $.95 charge and another charge of $24.95. I called the 800 number and was advised to go online and opt out of the "auto renewal program" which I knew nothing about. I did this, then called them again to refund the $24.95. I was told that the $.95 fee was a special and that it automatically signed me up for the full program unless I rescinded the "membership" within three days of using the .95 service. Since it was now more than three days they would not refund the money.

I have contacted the credit card company and filed a complaint. They can't file an official complaint with PeopleFinders for 15 more days
