I bought a sevellence camera from radio shack with a 2 year full replcement warranty after a few months it broke. We took it back and they were at first refusing to exchanged it but when they seen I was not going away without my cash or a new CAMERA they finally exchanged it..Well then they told us the next time we have to return the camera we would have to call the number on the warranty and they would send us a VISA cash card to go anywhere to replace it with another camera. Now having this second camera break, we called the number went and gave back the camera and was told we would get our cash card within 24 (VIA EMAIL) We did get it in 24 hours but it was a cash card that can only be used at radio shack..So they lied to us.I paid cash for the camera and I should get cash back..Now they are forcing me to buy the junk they sell and because i cannot use that card anywhere but in there store..I was alright with the visa cash card that they told me i would get but I am not going to buy anything there again so I deleted my RADIO SHACK CASH CARD and they are flat out refusing to give me back my 89.00..They got the camera back and I got  ripped off.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Replacement Plan Value

AUTHOR: Gabriel - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 14, 2012

It sounds like the employee you talked to was not fully trained or aware of the details of our service plans. Brochures are available to clarify any questions, but like anything else a customer buys, it is ultimately up to that customer to take responsiblity for knowing what they are purchasing (you have permission to call out sales associates if you think they are lying or could be wrong). Even though the cost was not replaced in cash it is still more than you would have gotten without the replacement plan (which is nothing). The words I use to sell replacement plans are "With our replacement plan you can send this product to our replacement department within 1 or 2 years if it malfunctions and recieve a refund on a radio shack gift card for what you paid today." Our normal return policy is only 30 days, so these replacement plans can prove useful.
