I had bought my grandsons 4 battery motorized airplanes at $17.00 bucks a piece and 3 months later when they had the chance to fly them, they broke. All four of them after one flight. There was no abuse to them. We were flying or trying to fly them in a grass field. Two of them flew great until they landed on the grass where the wings busted off. The other two the planes wouldn't take a charge after the two had flown them once. Now granted, they are made of Styrofoam but the person who sold me them said that he had one and there very durable. That he loved his. Yep, at $17.00 dollars a piece that's without taxes, I felt I was ripped off. Now I go to a variety of Radio Shacks for things that I would like to enjoy with my grand kids but because of this latest incident, I don't think I would go to them ever again. I took these back to the store I bought them at and I was told that because I didn't buy their package plan that covers these if something goes wrong, I'm out of luck.
My question is why would a legit company that makes millions take advantage of one by first lying to them to make a sale, and then not stand up for the product they're selling by at least replacing the defective items they sold to a customer who utilizes their businesses often? At least take these cheap airplanes off the shelves and redeem the cost from the vender. They lost my business and also my friends and family. So it was under $80.00 for them but to me it is money I earned from my work that is hard to come by anymore in this economy. Thanks for the defaulted airplanes and I hope that others don't fall into the same lies and deceiving ways you do business. There are places that redeem their product as it should be and this my friend, brings thumbs up to their customers. A outfit that brings in millions can't afford to give back is shameful. Especially for a little amount. Shame on you.

I have seen several complaints like this across several retailers especially concerning these remote control helicopters and planes. These products are cheaply constructed and tend to break easily if used even slightly improperly ( such as even a landing you might consider to be soft or not enough to damage anything ). However on a side note I do not feel you are blaming the right people here.
Radio Shack sold the product to you and even has a 30 day return policy printed clearly on their receipts the rules to utilize this policy are also clearly printed. They didn't do anything mean or wrong to you and although you may have felt that the employee mislead you about the products' structural integrity he may have actually experienced such a thing with his ( you expect us to believe your story about their use and refusal to charge on nothing more than your word, then you'll have to believe him - two way street ).
90 days is obviously considerably more than 30 so Radio Shack had no responsibility to return the items or issue any sort of replacement. However, at the date of purchase you were very likely offered a warranty on each of the planes for something in the neighborhood of 2-4$ ( estimation based on personal experience, Radio Shack tries to sell you these warranties on virtually EVERYTHING they sell even if it doesn't really make sense ) which would have allowed you to replace the planes free of cost or at least apply the purchase cost of them towards another purchase.
You more than likely refused this warranty in an attempt to save a few dollars and in this case that backfired. I understand you feel like you were cheated by Radio Shack but that simply isn't the case. If the aircraft you bought were as defective as you claim then you were cheated by the manufacturer. If you think this is Radio Shack's responsibility to compensate you for because they make so much more money than you then you have a problem no one can help you with.
I understand you didn't like this purchase and liked even less the fact that Radio Shack would not take responsibility for it, but you didn't even try to contact or deal with the people who are actually responsible. You cannot expect a retailer to lifetime warranty every product they sell and allow said products to be returned without packaging or any proof they were bought there. Learn to take responsibility for your choices and purchases and place blame where it is due, or just chock the 80 dollars up as a loss. But a complaint against a retailer for absolutely nothing maybe you should go to work during the time you wasted posting this.
