REACHOUT WIRELESS / FREE GOVERNMENT CELL PHONES / THIS IS A SCAM
When you apply for a free cell phone, they obtain all your necessary information then tell you to wait a couple of weeks to receive a pink slip and your free phone.
After my wait time and no pink slip or cell phone, I called several times only to be hung up by several Indian reps. After continued insistance and more calls, I was told by the indians that they could not register me for a phone because there was already an account with my information on file.
Many, and let me tell you many attempts to speak to a superior went unanswered. Finally spoke to an indian superior who provided me with apologies and he gave me an enrollment number along with my assigned cell phone number. After several weeks of waiting again, still no pink slip or cell phone, I made another fifty calls to try to contact a rep with authority. Again I was informed that I already had and account and they were not able to help me any further.
After another ten or twenty calls and hours on the telephone, I was told that a new enrollment number would be assigned and that I would receive a cell phone after another few weeks of waiting. This so-called free Government Cell phone is not worth the time. Had I done a google search for reviews on REACHOUT WIRELESS, I would have saved me all this time and agravation because every review on their page is BAD. No one has anything nice to say about this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

My Personal Experience with ROW

While I am no longer a ROW customer, and that is because Cricket offers a plan of unlimited talk and text for $25 a month, all taxes and fees included, I feel compelled to say that after being a customer for several years, I never had a problem. I purchased a few phones from the website because I wanted to upgrade my phone, not because anything went wrong with the phone. The minutes were always delivered on the date they were supposed to be and when I bought extra minutes they were added immediately.

No Phone received

To the person who works for this company I have applied for this phone 2 months ago. I was told I qualified for the phone my card was charged for an upgraded phone for the account. I have received nothing, I called several times being told to wait 3 more weeks confirming I am approved and they did charge my card for a phone. I have called multiple times today and the phone disconnects after hearing all the recordings, I tried the online customer service and waited for 3 hours no one every picked up. I have been ripped off by this company, they are suppling govenment phones and should be reported to the government. You are full of beans!! If our jobs were not being shipped overseas there would be a lot less unemployed. I don't know how ROW can support that!!!

HAHA Getting the equipment out in a timely manner is a JOKE.
I had to Order a new phone and had to wait a Week and a half
For the website to come back online because of it being down for
Maintenance.
We are so sorry for that you were unable to buy a phone through the website,
but our website is currently down for maintenance. It should be in a few
days to a week before the phones will appear again on the website.
And my question in the reply was what are you guys using for equipment DELLS? that it’s going to take so long?
And Still waiting on the PHONE!!!

I will say that I am not sure what this person is talking about that describes this wonderful experience with Reachout Wireless. The customer service stinks and they take your money without giving you what you pay for. Beware and seek other options if at all possible.

Reachout wireless - wait time ridiculous
AUTHOR: Liz - (USA)

My complaint about reachout wireless is legit. I am not a scammer. After numerous calls and a five month battle with these people, I finally got the indians to understand that I never ever received my first phone and that I never received this so called pink slip they claimed they sent.
If not for my insistance and continued calls and letters and proof of who I was, who I'd been speaking to and what was said, They finally came thru with a re-used phone that didn't work. After another 2 months of calls trying to return the phone and getting my bill reversed for a falty phone, they sent another re-manufacture phone that kept ringing all day with no one at the other end. After another two to three weeks of phone calls to reachout wireless and more insistance on speaking to a superior, I ended up purchasing my own phone and getting them to allow me to keep a previous cell number that I had.
Then they asked me to pay upfront for (6) months of service. I did this in march 2012. I found that the money I paid upfront for six months was all used up in 45 days. Every call you make whether you connect or not is one minute taken off your upfront payment. IT'S RIDICULOUS.
Contacting customer service is horrible. The indians disconnect the lines constantly and pass you on to other reps who do the same thing. If it wasn't because I was poor and destitude I'd tell these people to go to u no where. I have no choice but to keep these assholes because I can't afford a decent phone at this time.
To those who are considering obtaining this government free phone, be aware that you must invest a s**t load of your time to get the indians 1) understand what your issue is... 2) be prepared to stay on indefinate hold 3) be ready to have your line disconnected 4) get used to being passed on to others or being put back in the que to start all over again.
To the person who stated that most get their phones in 10 days. This is not true for Reachout wireless. NOT AT ALL.

I am an independent representative with reachout wireless and I can say the system is not perfect but we try to make every effort to insure a qualified person that lives in an covered are gets a phone. We operate yourfreefone.com and the system we have to use weeds out the abusers 90% or better of the time.
Yes the use an overseas call center to handle most of their call volume and that is what most American companies now do. Our applicants that qualify for phones get their phones in about 10 days after they are approved and they are really happy with them. This being said if you believe it is a scam fine but I can say it is not a scam. It is probably scammers that report this as a scam to make their selves feel better.
