Went to Holiday Hair and ask for highlights, old highlights were growing out and needed a touchup at the roots, the so called stylist Anna stated "since you have some gray I am going to use a different color technique to color your hair", the end result is I ended up with a combination of orange and green hair, the hair cut was terrible also, she didn't seem to know what stacked in the back meant long uneven pieces hanging down the back.

I called back and asked for a manager, the store doesn't have a manager, the girl answering the phone stated the manager quit and we have new people here.  I proceeded to call the corporate office and got a real attitude from the woman answering the phone named Allie, talking down to me, after several persistant calls to corporate the district manager left a message for me to show up at the salon and she would look at my hair, she put a cream on the whole head to lift the color, however, now I have brassy gold hair.  Called back the the corporate office wanting my hair redone with the color highlights I walked in with and requested (beige blonde) or a refund, but nobody will return my calls.  The most recent phone call to corporate Allie told me I should be happy with what they have done.

I went to another salon to get a second opinion and was told getting the brassy gold out probably won't happen, my hair has to be colored back to natural color all over then the highlights reapplied.

I was telling a friend about the incident and she also had a bad experience the this same salon and ended up going somewhere else and paying a second time to have her hair fixed, regis would not refund or correct her hair and it is impossible to get past the receptionist when calling corporate to talk to someone in management.

I am a Hair Stylist

AUTHOR: utopianruins - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 09, 2011

I am not going to comment on whether or not or your daughters haircut is good or not. I can't tell from the photo, it's not styled and looks slept on.

What I can tell you is that I am a Hair Stylist and from the picture of the cut your daughter was asking for, that haircut does have area's that are cut to 1 inch or so. It's used to create lift. and judging from the picture of your daughters hair, he has fine hair that requires Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner along with cutting techniques that create volume and lift in fine/thin limp hair.

This haircut is called an industrial haircut and requires a lot of very short layers to create the lift and volume required.

It never ceases to amaze me that everyone assumes that they can pull of any haircut. You have to look at a haircut and determine if your hair type is going to work with that haircut. And yes this should be something the Stylist should be able to tell you. However sometimes stylist do get tired of constantly hearing people complain when they're told the haircut they want wont work with their hair type, so they just give up and let the client find out for themselves. Mind you not a good practice for a Stylist to fall into, especially if they want to continue making money.

Basically, the haircut could very well have been good and if styled correctly looked awesome. It may just be that the hairtype was not perfect and styling products and time may have needed to be spent to reach the desired look.

Another Bad "Holiday Hair" experience

AUTHOR: Gina - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 17, 2010

I brought my daughter (12) to our local "Holiday Hair" for a haircut.  She was prepared with an 8.5 X 11 photo of the cut/style she wanted, as well as had explicit instrcutions for the stylist as to how to alter the cut to allow for my daughter's current hair length (shorter than the model's).  The "stylist" proceeded to do her own thing (probably the same cut she gives everyone), complete with 1/2 inch to 1 inch pieces cut right on top of my daughter's head.  Not ONE piece of hair on the model's head (or my daughter's head, prior to service) was even close to that short.  She also completely disregarded my daughter's explicit instruction regarding the length and style/cut adjustment to allow for the length differences.  My daughter cired for two days.  You can't fix TOO SHORT...and right on TOP of her head.  We tried parting her hair on the opposite side, but that just caused the hair laying over top of the short pieces to lift up.  The damage is done.  The stylist did ask my daughter if she liked it and she responded "It's fine".  She lied.  It's not fine.  I wouldn't let that "stylist", who also happened to be the MANAGER, touch a single hair on her head again.  If she couldn't get it right the first time, she's not getting a second chance.  Besides, what could she do...you can make too short hair, long again.  I don't understand why someone enters into a profession and cannot be bothered to keep their skill set current and listen to their customers.  We should have walked out when we saw the complete lack of style in the "stylists" in the salon.  I could have walked into any strip mall salon in 1985.  I have contacted "Holiday Hair" and await their reponse.  However, what can they do?  They can't fix this.  My daughter will be wearing her hair pulled up and back, tucked and pinned until the mess grows out.  It was a true hack job.  As if being a 12 year old, 7th grader doesn't present enough challenges.  They should be ashamed of their lack of skill and professionalism.  I've learned my lesson.  No more "Holiday Hair" for us!
