to summarize, i sold someone a domain name at the end of june for $1000, and used registerfly.com's escrow service to facilitate the sale. the buyer paid the escrow service at the beginning of july.

despite tons of emails, phone calls, and faxes to registerfly.com, they still hasn't paid me at the time i'm writing this [november 2005]. the company always tells me the same thing, which is, basically, "we're very busy, we haven't gotten around to it yet." this has taken FOUR MONTHS already!

i really believe they have no intention of paying me. i think this is a scam, and this company is trying to use other people to get rich. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

30-Jun the domain is sold for $1000

01-Jul the buyer pays registerfly.com escrow service for the domain

07-Jul the buyer reports that his card has been billed twice.

15-Aug after many communications between the buyer, the seller, and registerfly.com, the buyer finally receives the domain -- 6 WEEKS later!

18-Aug I haven't been paid. I send an email asking when I'll be paid.

24-Aug posted 3rd trouble ticket to find out why I still haven't been paid

24-Aug telephoned [long distance!], waited 35 minutes in teleprompter. asked to speak to escrow dept. They tell me they can't transfer me, and they can't provide me with a direct number. All they can do is take a message, and get back to me. I leave a message. The escrow people NEVER call back.

25-Aug in response to my phone call, one of the sales agents sends me an email directing me to send them an email with confirmation and acct details. I resend my original email with confirmation and acct details to registerfly

30-Aug I still haven't been paid. I send an email asking when I'll be paid.

01-Sep consulting the registerfly.com support page, I find that the trouble ticket has been CLOSED!

02-Sep telephoned. Waited only 20 minutes at teleprompter this time. Asked again to speak with escrow. Same result as before.

07-Sep I still haven't been paid. I send an email asking when I'll be paid, and note that if I'm not paid soon I'll be contacting ICANN and the chamber of commerce.

07-Sep I send an email to the sales representative who sent me a reply on 8/25. Nothing comes of it.

08-Sep on a forum for webmasters, I find a technical person who works at registerfly and explain the problem. I am told he'll look into it.

09-Sep person on forum asks me if anyone informed me I need to send them a fax with my acct info and identification. I tell them nobody ever asked me to fax them anything, but I'd already sent my acct info three times via email.

12-Sep person on forum tells me my info must be sent by fax. I send them a fax with my acct information and identification details

13-Sep person on forum informs me that I should be paid within 24-36 hours

21-Sep I ask person on the forum why I still haven't been paid. In response, person on forum asks if I specified my payment method, and to whom the money will be paid.

23-Sep I reply, noting my acct information ONCE AGAIN, as well as mentioning that they had received this information already in 3 previous emails and a fax.

23-Sep person on forum informs me that they are understaffed, and that there may be a fee to wire me my money

26-Sep I ask how much are their fees for sending me my money
26-Sep person on forum tells me a wire will cost $25

27-Sep I express my disappointment at the price they charge to wire me my money and ask if they have any assurance a check will actually be cut and will arrive

28-Sep person on forum informs me that they can pay me by certified mail or overnight. I reply that I'd like a money order sent certified mail.

04-Oct I ask person on forum on the forum why I still haven't been paid

10-Oct person on forum asks me to send them my phone number in an email to sales@registerfly.com

13-Oct I send my telephone information, as requested
13-Oct I receive confirmation by email that they've received my telephone number. they tell me that they will send me a check by overnight mail, and ask for address confirmation.
13-Oct I send another email with my information and mention that they already received this information in my previous emails and fax.

20-Oct I still haven't been paid. I send an email to registerfly sales / escrow asking when I'll be paid.
20-Oct I ask person on forum why I still haven't been paid

21-Oct person on forum asks if I sent them my address via email, to which I respond that I've sent my info several times already

01-Nov I still haven't been paid. I consult the trouble-ticket screen on registerfly.com website. Response: "You are not authorized to view this ticket." I am fed up. I call the better business bureau, the NJ consumer affairs division, and post this to ripoff-report.
