I have had a few run ins with this company. First being told that they did not have to give me the contact numbers or addresses for account that I had in collections (supposedly)with them. When I investigated these reports, with the companies they had no idea what I was talking about. I had to threaten back in order to get any information. Then they filed a late collection on my credit report for a bill excused in a bankruptcy, so it shows as a collection. T
tonight I just recieved another leter from them regarding another bill that was on our awarded bancruptcy. The letter stated that I contacted them regarding validility of the debt. I did not. They are rude, threatening and unscrupulous. When I told them I had filed for bancruptcy and it was awarded I gave them the case number and dismissal date. They wanted me to fax them my whole bancruptcy file. Can't someone put these people out of business. I am truly stressed anytime a letter comes from them. We have worked very hard to get our credit back on track.
Sincerely,
Kristina & Richard Scott

You have legal recourse! Want to get PAID

Kristina and Richard,
They have violated provisions of the US Bankruptcy code as well as your rights under the FDCPA and the FCRA.
IMMEDIATELY contact a lawyer and sue for damages. This is an open and shut case and you WILL get paid. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
And STAY OFF THE PHONE!! Do everything in writing by certified mail, return reciept requested. Be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records.
Be sure to keep a copy of your credit report that has the collection entry on it. This will get you paid.
It is ILLEGAL for anyone to so much as contact you on an account that was included in a BK.
Go to FTC.gov and file a complaint online for the illegal collections activity, and go to budhibbs.com to get the link to the NACA where you can get a lawyer in your are that specializes in this area.
Do a web search for "Palisades" and see what you find! Big time offenders.
I'll be glad to help any way I can.
Good luck.

Call your bankruptcy attorney!

If this debt was already dismissed in the bankruptcy, this means that they received notice, disregarded it, and received a SECOND notice telling them the debt was forgiven by the court. This is their problem NOT yours.
Ask your attorney to contact them and explain the penalties for trying to collect on a debt that has been discharged, and your willingness to enforce those penalties. That should pretty much take care of these people!
Good Luck!
