So I file my 2007 taxes with Turbotax and use the efile option. Turbotax has Santa Barbara Bank And Trust handle the direct deposit so that they can take there fee for filing, because I chose not to use my credit card.(1st mistake). So I get confirmation that my refund has been excepted by the Irs and a date of 2/29/08 as when SBBT will get my refund. This info is from Sbbt site @ Https://cisc.sbbtral.com. 2/29/08 comes and I check Sbbt website again. Now it says that Sbbt had received my refund from the Irs on 2/27/08 and on the same day deposited it into my checking account. I call my bank to verify. Nothing... My bank has no record of any deposit or attempted deposit from SBBt. I send a email to Sbbt asking what going on... They respond with, "The direct deposit was returned and we mailed You a cashiers check on 2/27/08.Hmmm.. I caLL SBBT and talk to a costumer service person. They state that" Your refund was received on 2/27/08 and that the funds where still there at SBBT. I confirm my account info and all seems well although I'm wondering why my refund is still sitting at SBBT 2days after they recieved it and took there money..

I then get a email from Sbbt 2 hrs later that i need to contact them via telephone. I do and get a new customer service rep, who informs me that my refund was returned from my bank on 2/27/08 and that when SBBT bank has confirmation of the funds credited back that they will issue a cashiers check and mail it to me.... I say well ok, can You send me a email verifacation of this, they agree to. Big surprise, no email and there website still says that they deposited my refund on 2/27/08 and all is well. Many times I questioned the customer service reps why Ive been told different stories and given different dates, with no answer. its now Sat 3/01/08 and I have no clue where my money is. How are institutions allowed to operate like this, and isnt there some penalty from the federal gov to protect the people against this? If You have had , or are going threw the same or similar situation speak out. I bust my butt all year working, and dont appreciate some company playing games with my money .

SBBT A JOKE

AUTHOR: Lisa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 08, 2009

Should be ashamed of themselves. Eight people I know have had there income tax refund mailed out instead of direct deposited like they marked on there tax return. No it was not the people putting the account number in incorrectly, so all you naysayers out there keep that comment to yourselves. Since when does a bank think they can do whatever they want? I also know one of my friends has hired an attorney because she actually works at the bank and takes care of all the ACH deposits. She talked to SBBT and they told her they tried to direct deposit and it did not work. She caught them red handed in a blatant lie. She said no you did not because I work at the bank and take care of all the ACH deposits and you did not attemp to deposit my refund into my bank account and the SBBT rep hung up on her. So Turbotax should also be embarrassed for doing business with such a shady company.

Heres How I Screwed Santa Barbara Bank and Trust Over

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 04, 2008

I filed my 2007 refund knowing I still owed 2,472 dollars in back taxes. My total refund amount for my 2007 return was 2,389 dollars... yay me! After the 2 prior years of having my returns intercepted by the IRS for back taxes, this will finally pay it off!! So... Im at the end of turbo tax and think to myself... s**t, im not getting any refund in my pocket and hell if I want to pay a 30 dollar fee to file! :) Turbo Tax asks me how I would like to pay my fee for their service and I se a link that says "Have Your Fee Deducted From Your Expected Refund" and i said to myself BINGO! Hell yes, I will take this offer... so I entered all my info and they sent in my refund to the IRS and my taxes were accepted the next day. OUTSTANDING!! I filed using Turbo Tax Online for free... Thank You Santa Barbara Bank and Trust

lol you got PWNED
