I ordered some posters from ALLPOSTERS.COM. I was very happy with my order; I believe I spent nearly $200 with them. Their "reward" to me was to offer me $10 off my next purchase as I was checking out at the end of my virtual web shopping spree. Little did I know that this linked my credit card information to a company that was supposedly offering me all sorts of rewards and cupons for the handy dandy price of $12/mo. I would have never noticed this small charge, except that this month, I went on line to check some other bank issues, and noticed this same charge came up ever since I purchased the posters in April. They have been secretly charging my account, and I HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING FOR IT, for four months!!

I immediately called their 1800-number....(here it is, if you feel inclined to give them a call and tell them what a bunch of rip off jerks they are:
1-800-898-8776) I was connected to a 'customer service rep' who promptly lied and told me that I had 'electronically signatured authorization'. I had agreed to pay shipping and handling for my posters, and pay for them, but under no circumstances did I agree to pay $12/mo for a $10 dollar reward cupon!! What a crock!

I informed the customer service rep. that I would contact the FTC about the deceptive business practice, to which he stated I was being verbally abusive??? (I never used bad language, or raised my voice, nor did I use any name calling....I simply stated that I would contact the FTC). He put me in touch with his 'supervisor' who agreed to return all of my money, as well as this month's charges.

This is a complete rip off!!
I also sent ALL POSTER"S.COM a letter, and they replied....
here is their letter to me,
and my letter preceding at the bottom....
So they are IN ON IT!!

THIS MESSAGE IS IN RESPONSE TO YOUR
MESSAGE-----------------------------------

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
In April of this year, I ordered a set of dolphin posters from your company. I have been very happy with them, and have enjoyed them on my walls at my office.
However, I was surprised to learn that a company that 'tracked' my purchase from your company, offered me a bunch of cupons and rewards/ discounts if I wanted to 'sign up' with them. I did not know that their
deceptive business practice was so devious. I assumed because I had done business with you, that this company was also a good company. Little did I know that this company obtained my bank account information from what
I had purchased from you, but also used my 'electronic signature' as 'authorization' to continue charging me a monthly fee to obtain 'free cupons'. I was charged almost a total of $48.00 over the last few months
without my knowledge. It was 'snuck' in my account and I did not notice it because it was a 'small charge' hidden amongst other charges. I noticed it today when I was reconciling my bank account. I would love to continue doing business with you, but unless you can assure me that you no longer will have any other companies getting my information, or making offers to me as this one did, I will no longer do business with you, nor will I suggest your company to anyone else.

I am also notifying the BBB, as well as the FTC, as this business practice is completely fraudulent. I will also make a complaint at Rip OFF reports.....
I am very disappointed in a company that would harbor people like this. In plain terms, this is thievery. Obtaining money without authorization or consent, or obtaining money by deception.....in my book, and in
most state law books, this is illegal, isn't it??
Perhaps you should have a little conversation with this company, before you are associated with them.
Sincerely,
_________________________________________________________

Here is my subsequent reply to their letter:
Dear All POsters:
You are missing the point. The point isn't that this would give customers a REWARD....the point is the DECEPTIVE WAY that this is procured. Offering me a reward I HAVE TO PAY FOR, is hardly a reward!! OBTAINING MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER OR MASTER CHARGE NUMBER without telling me IS DECEPTIVE! STATING MY ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE AS CONSENT WHEN IT ISN'T IS DECEPTIVE PRACTICE!!
Before you tell me to go get my money returned from this company, you should be telling me that you will not partner with such a company again!

Thank you for clarifying for me which side of the fence you are on. I will be contacting the local BBB, Attorney General Consumer Affairs Division for the State of TExas, and the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. BTW, I am personal friends with one of the top attorneys at the FTC.....
Thank you for your response. I will forward it to the appropriate entities.
_________________________________________________________
In my opinion,
I would never do business with this company again.....and before I ever do business on the internet, I will make sure I check with rip off reports to see if there are any complaints against them....
don't fall into their deceptive practices!!
