I purchased a 72 month extended car warranty from Signet Financial Group on 11/26/04.  If the warranty was not used I could request a refund of the warranty.  I requested a refund in July of 2009 via regular mail.  Signet never responded so I sent a second refund in September of 2009 via certified mail to make sure they recieved the request. At that point they responded to me indicated that I was not a customer.  I called several times and left messages with no response.  Finally I got to a human and was told they had my information in their system incorrectly therefore they could not find me as a customer.  They then indicated that I was past my 30 day window of opportunity to request the refund.

If I purchased a 72 month warranty on 11/26/04 and I needed to request a refund within 30 days, I did do that with my notice in July as well as September.  Signet has not answered my questions on this.

Signet claims that my 72 month warranty begain form the inception date on my contract of 6/13/03.  How is it possible to puchase a 72 month warranty approximatly a year and a half before I even purchased the vehicle?????  Did I or did I not purchase a 72 month warranty????  My contract clearly state that I did and on 11/26/04.

Signet is intentionally deceptive on their contracts in order to keep the warranty money.  They never answer the phone, you only get voice mail and even then no one calls you back.

They asked me for a copy of the letter I sent in July, which I did provide.  They then said that was not good enough.  I would need to provide a copy of the postmarked envelope.  This isn't possible, I sent the letter to them in July, they already have the postmarked envelope.  They then asked for a certified reciept.  I didn't sent the original request certified, it was not a requirement.

This is a terrible company with extremly poor customer service.  I have filed complaints with the BBB, the State Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission as well as notifed media outlets.
