We were setting up our business and trying to get our EIN number ,my husband typed in get tax ID for business and Simple filing came up . They made it seem like they are part of the IRS so he didn't question it.
We went back into the emails yesterday and discovered that the information they put onto the SS-4 form (Application for Employer Indentification Number) was incorrect. We both called them this morning and they said it was our fault and that now we have to deal with the IRS to get it corrected , that they have no responiblity to correct their mistakes.
The lady we both spoke to was very rude and told me that it clearly states in the very first paragraph on their website that they are not the IRS. WELL, I went onto the website and no where in the first paragraph does it say they are not the IRS. It isn't until you go down to the very bottom of the page that it states that, but it's hard to read because the lettering is small and it is a colored background , which makes it even harder to read.
They charged us $187 for the tax ID number and now I have to spend hours of my time correcting their mistake. I think they owe us a refund of the chagres if they are not going to fix their mistakes. Better yet I think I wil dispute the charges because they are not giving the service they are charging for. Not to mention they are very  misleading in how they present themselves . DO NOT use them they are a big RIP OFF.

We are an independent document preparation and filing service that strives to succeed by providing intuitive proprietary forms, clear help content, quick processing times, and quality customer service. We aren't affiliated with any government agency, so we work only for you, and only to improve your filing experience. And our service is explained multiple times and in multiple places before any information or payment is accepted.

We assist customers every day with documents and filings at the federal, state, and local levels, including LLC Formations, Incorporations, DBA Registrations, Federal Tax IDs (EINs), S-Corporation Elections, Entity Classification Elections, and more. People can conduct any business filing on their own, or they can enlist the help of a third party company that has performed that same filing many times before.

In this case, it sounds like what happened is that the customer accidentally typo'd some of their information when providing it to us. Not to fault them, because that can clearly happen to anyone. But then when we prepared their SS-4 form and provided it to them for their signature, they signed it, indicating their review and approval. We then filed the signed SS-4 with the IRS on their behalf, at which point the information they typo'd was submitted to the IRS and accepted. After this point, the IRS does not allow us to modify the information. The way to modify it at this point is for the customer to wait for a confirmation letter to arrive in the postal mail from the IRS, and for them to then send that back to the IRS with the corrected information.

We apologize that this post-submittal modification process is out of our control, but we will strive to continue improving everything that is in our control.
