Sirius Sattelite Radio Unathorized Credit Card Charges New York New York

I purchased satellite radio from third party in 2005 and activated it with Sirius, paying in advance for a one year subscription. Midway through the year my radio died and I decided not to replace it, and to let the subsicription lapse. Six months later I noticed a charge on my credit card for an additional annual subscription (approx $170). I called Sirius to inform them that I no longer had a working Sirius radio and had not authorized a renewal of my subscription nor charge to my credit card.

I was passed through several different "retention specialists", each who argued with me and tried to persuade me to keep the subscription (even though I no longer had a working radio).

Finally I told them that the annual fee was unauthorized and that I needed it removed, period, end of story, and hung up. I recently found that the fee never was reversed on my credit card and I therefore paid for a service I did not want, request, nor use.

Last month I started receiving email and computer generated calls from Sirius informing them that my service would be terminated if I didn't pay my annual fee. I responded by again contacting Sirius and explaining that I no longer had a Sirius radio and had never authorized any renewal charges, either in 2006 nor now, in 2007. The person I spoke with was polite told me that they had actually already charged my credit card ($180) for an another years subscription but that he would terminate my account and credit back the amount charged to my credit card.

Today I received my credit card statement and found out that in fact they never did reverse the charges.

My complaint is that twice now Sirius radio has automatically, without my consent, debited my credit card for over $300 total, in annual fees when in neither case were these charges authorized.

Avoid SIRIUS Radio unless you want to set yourself up for an endless sequence of unauthorized charges to your credit card and unfulfilled promises.
