I bought a sirius radio at Radio Shack for my son in December. It had a few rebates with it. I read the instructions for the rebates and it said that you had to have the service for the radio for 90 days in order to get a rebate. I sent for the rebate in March of 2005. I never received anything at all, so I decided to call and find out where my rebates were.
Well, after being on hold for 10 minutes, she finally came back on and told me I wsn't going to get a rebate because I sent in the forms after the 30 day period and that I would get a letter of rejection this week, and after I got the rejection letter to call them and they would see what they could do for me. If I had to have the service for 90 days, why would I send in the rebate forms immediately. So they could lose them? Wouldn't any one interpret the instructions to read after90 days of service you can apply for the rebates?
Sirius radio are a bunch of theives. Do not buy from them if you are counting on getting a rebate, because it isn't going to happen.
Also, I talked to them on Sunday, it is Saturday, and I still haven't gotten any letter of rejection. Why should I have to call them anyway before they would acknowledge even rejecting my rebate. I will cancel my service immediately with them. They need me for a customer, I definately do not need them.

I had rebates as well for Sirius and I had no problems at all getting them. I sent the rebate in after I bought my receiver and they have a nice tracking site you can go to and follow the steps of your rebate. Sirius is great by the way!!

What I am trying to get in the open is that the customer thinks it is on customer service. It actually is not. Like I stated above, Sirius has a serperate fufillment house that approves or denies the rebates. The information that Customer Service has is the same information that you see on the website www.web-rebates.com/sirius. If you are having trouble with your rebate, don't make any assuptions. Contact Customer service and I garuntee someone will look at your account and your receiver to make sure it qualifies for the rebate. If it does then it will be resubmitted for an override and you will receive your rebate.

In order to receive the rebates that were used as a marketing tool to sell your products and services. The irritating part is that when you prequalify online for the rebate, if you SID/EIN isn't correct or the receiver isn't one that qualifies, the website tells you that. If it accepts it and you send in all of the required paperwork and have service the required time, THEN you get a postcard denying your rebate because the receiver doesn't qualify or the SID/EIN not found, well, that is fraud, plain and simple. I know that rebate centers generally employ morons to the nth degree, but as long as SIRIUS is using rebates as a marketing tool and people are getting screwed and don't know how to fight back, it is not the rebate center that looks bad and it is not the rebate center who promised Sirius subscribers a rebate..it was SIRIUS.
I got my rebates only because I kicked, screamed and stamped my feet and generally made a nuisance of myself.

Why now?

Why would I contact them now? I got the Sirius radio in December of 2004. That's been over a year ago and I got absolutely nothing from them, but deductions from my debit card monthly.
No letter telling me that my rebate was denied. I don't even have the receipts now, I sent them in to Sirius radio.
Sorry, but they are theives. No doubt about it.
They con you into buying the radio by offering rebates, then they ignore you. Thanks, but no thanks.
Will they actually honor anything without the receipts that they have? I don't think so.

If you have a rebate question on why you were denied. Please contact Customer Care. Customer Care does not say whether or not you can receive your rebate. There is a separarate fufillment center. Please please please contact customer service either by phone or email. Explain your situation, the reason why you were denied, and the tracking number on your denial postcard. A rep. will check into your account and verify that the receiver and the account qualifies for the rebate.
