In December 2007, my husband and I went to lease the Nissan Rogue at Smithtown Nissan. We are experienced in leasing and always incorporate all fees into our monthy payment. We always pay first month's payment and title and registration fees upon delivery of the car.
We discussed prices with Ray Krisa (sales manager) and called 2 days later with our decision. We were trading in another vehicle.
In order to secure the car, the salesman needed the first month pament on my credit card. I asked, NUMEROUS TIMES, that this was indeed, the first month car payment. I was assured it was.
When we went to get the car, Ray Krisa was not in. A sales manager told us that the payment on my credit card was a security deposit/down payment and we still had to pay the first month payment. WE NEVER WOULD HAVE AGREED TO THAT! He told us that he could not give us the car for that price. He told us that there was nowhere that stated our original agreement, however, I showed him it was righ on top of the folder. We were told it didn't matter. We were told that whatever our salesman said didn't matter. Everyone we dealt with that evening was rude and nasty. We were told that if we didn't agree to the new payment schedule, we could leave without the car. The license plates had been switched to the Rogue. We no longer had insurance on our other car. The only choice we had was to pay the security deposit or pay more monthly.
Feeling beaten and frustrated we agreed to pay more monthly. We hoped that the next day, Ray Krisa would straighten it all out. We did speak with Mr. Krisa who said that he would get back to us. He never did. I called many times but he never returned my calls. Someone else called informing us that Mr. Krisa was on vacation. A blatant lie. We were informed the deal would stay as it was. There would be no refund and they would not honor my original agreement.
My husband did speak to Ray Krisa later and Mr. Krisa was nasty and cursed at him. We have never been treated so rudely by a car dealership. We have never been deceived as we were at Smithtown Nissan. Do not buy a car from Smithtown Nissan, they are thieves!
