I don't feel like I should BAILOUT Sprint.....seems the only way they can keep afloat is by ripping off their customers.

June 06 I was told by a representative that I needed to prepay my phone plan with Nextel/Sprint or else I could not have service. I was skeptical and told them that I asked about how I would go about getting that money repaid to me when I cancel the service. I was told that customer service will be reluctant to pay it back and that I would have to demand my money back, but that I will get it. The time came to cancel my plan when in July I lost my phone, so I suspended my service. When the plan is suspended you are not charged for services, since you don't use any. I decided a month later to cancel, and I asked for my money back on the money I prepaid the plan for. They gave me several unsatisfactory reasons why I could not have my money refunded. I decided to write the BBB, they still declined to give me my money back.

This is the response I got back from BBB:

Dear Mr. xxxxxx:

Sprint Nextel (Sprint) is in receipt of the above-referenced complaint of xxxxx. We appreciate your assistance in bringing our customer's cancellation and billing concerns to our attention. It will be our pleasure to assist with addressing xxxxxx wireless account concerns. We apologize to her for any inconvenience she may have experienced while attempting to resolve this matter.

We have attempted to contact xxxxx at her contact phone line, xxxx, and via e-mails sent to her on xxxxxx, to discuss her concerns in detail; however, we have been unable to reach her. We regret that we were unable to speak with her personally.

We have reviewed the information in xxxxx complaint and account records. In accordance with Sprint's wireless account cancellation policy, whenever a customer requests the cancellation of an account, the customer will be charged access until the end of the current billing cycle. This cancellation policy is communicated to our customers through the Sprint Terms and Conditions of Services, which are included with each new Sprint handset or device in the handset and/or device user guide included in the packaging material. Please refer to the section entitled Your Right To Terminate Services, which indicates that a customer can terminate services at any time by calling us and requesting that we deactivate all services. Our customer is responsible for all charges billed or incurred prior to deactivation. If services are terminated before the end of the invoicing cycle, we will not prorate charges to the date of termination, and the customer will not receive a credit or refund for any unused services. We regret any misunderstandings that may have occurred regarding Sprint's billing and cancellation policy. However, Sprint must respectfully decline xxxxrequest that we issue a refund to her for one monthly service charge on her account.

They owe me $60.00 and I want my money, I want it NOW!

You dont deserve your money back.. you are paying for service that you get. when you cancel you are billed up until the end of the billing cycle and your phone remains on until then so you can use it.. sprint is not ripping you off in this case you are only paying for service that you recieve.
