I visited a local Sprint Store in Mt Laurel, NJ to address an exorbitant charge on our monthly bill. The store manager reviewed the bill and determined there was a billing glitch which caused sprint-to-sprint calls to be charged (which should be free). He contacted the billing office and together he and the individual to whom he spoke attempted to manually deduct charges for calls which they believed should be deducted from the bill.

When the store manager was asked if he was positive that all calls had been accurately deducted, he verbalized that he could not be 100% sure. As best he could calculate he estimated that approximately $50 should be deducted from the bill. Might I add that the total of the bill (around $260) was well over the average monthly amount we pay (which is around $130/month). Needless to say, the $50 deduction didn't cut it.

The bill in question indicated that we had exceeded the top tier (> 2000 minutes) of the Sprint PCS Fair & Flexible plan by over 1300 minutes. In the history of this account, we have never, ever exceeded the top tier--not even close to the top!

I have since written to the Sprint World Headquarters, I've called customer service and have requested that, in all fairness, the bill be re-run since the so called "glitch" has been corrected. I would like to make a comparison against the erroneous bill. I have never heard from the corporate office, nor was I successful in receiving a corrected bill. I have filed a complaint with the FCC and am currently awaiting a response from them.

My dissatisfaction with Sprint is that there have been at least four to five documented occurrences in the recent past of inaccurate billings for which Sprint has made some nominal deductions from those bills once I complained. Often times their explanations don't make sense.

I find it very disappointing that each month I must review each bill with a fine-toothed comb. Frankly, I'm tired of being ripped off month after month. Where does it end, and who will listen?!
