WARNING TO CONSUMERS: NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO STAY AWAY FROM SQUARETRADE - THE WARRANTY COMPANY FOR TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES

 

HOW I FOUND OUT THAT SQUARETRADE IS A SCAM

 

I purchased an OfficeJet All-in-One 8600 from my local Staples store in August 2014. I purchased a 2-year warranty protection plan provided by SquareTrade. The printer began to give a paper jam error, I followed the steps in the troubleshooting animation and check all compartments. There was no paper jam - not even a thread. However, in the HP online troubleshooting, they did indicate that the printer can sometime give a paper jam message in error. When nothing worked, 

 

I took the printer to Staples. Their desk technician told me since my printer is fully covered, I should call SquareTrade and they will refund the cost of the printer. So i did. My call was first placed to SquareTrade on November 21, 2015. I spoke with a man who told his name was Miles. He said that since this is the first time I call for problem with any device and he knows that without a printer my work virtually becomes output-disabled. based on this, the man told me he was sending me an Affidavit to sign via my email immediately. I received the Affidavit within about 2 minutes. I signed and emailed it back to the man within 1 minute. Since then, I have been given all kind of run around by various individuals at SquareTrade, including people who identify themselves as supervisors. They have a script. I know this because of the nearly 10 people I have spoken with over a period of 5 days, dozens of hours on hold and on the phone with SquareTrade employees, I am still waiting to receive my refund, which had been promised for me to receive within 24 to 48 hours. This is is documented in SquareTrade's own email to me,

 

What is even more immoral is when the man told me he took care of this and I should get my refund right away, he sent his private email address to email him a copy of a letter of commendation I told I was going to write on SquareTrade Facebook Page.

I put the company on notice as to what actions I would take if they refuse to refund my money now. They have chosen to keep my money. Therefore, since today is Thanksgiving, I cannot go and file a lawsuit against SquareTrade and its CEO Ahmed Khaishgi, I am staring the process to hold this company accountable and get my money back today. More posts will follow. This post will also be public on my website, Google Plus, Twitter, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Linkedin, and will be linked and tagged to the multiple other websites I write for, including my Google Blogger's site. I refuse to finance 1 per-centers. I will not stop taking actions until my refund shows on my Paypal account. 

 

NOTE: Yesterday, I sent SquareTrade supervisor my last and final notice demanding my refund be in my Paypal account by midnight. I put the company on notice as to what actions I would take if they refuse to refund my money now. They have chosen to keep my money. Therefore, since today is Thanksgiving, I cannot go and file a lawsuit against SquareTrade and its CEO Ahmed Khaishgi, I  am staring the process to hold this company accountable and get my money back today.
