I had a Providian card which was sold to SST card services. I got no warning that my card was sold. We only received something in the mail that stated I was 138.97 over the credit limit.
When I finally got the card, it was well past the due date of my account. Then, they tacked on another over limit fee and late pymt fee. I called was was told that they lowered my credit limit by $300.00, which REALLY put me over the limit.
When I finally got through to someone, I was met with a rude woman who basically said that they didn't care and there wasn't anything they could or would do. My 29.99% interest rate stuck, even though I had proof that my old interest rate was 1/2 that. They still won't do anything.
From what I have read on the internet, and my own experiences, theis company is a compete RIP-off and will ruin your credit.

I had the same thing happen to me. My card was sold to SST & from that day on the nightmare started. Prior to that, I never had a problem with my account. These people are thieves & have the rudest customer service reps that I have ever spoken to. They really DON'T care, as you said & they will ruin your credit!

Yes this is true I also owned a providian card and my account also was transfered to SST. Horrible, I am stuck, I have not activated the card, they won't close my account either, they won't lower the interest or close the account even though it is not activated. I am not quite debt free because this card. What is the solution?
