I complain on the Steak 'N Shake Restaurant at Antioch, Tennessee for what appears to be a permanent or temporary problem in management. I was there last Saturday morning, May 9, 2014, and had a quite unpleasant experience. There was one waitress that was busting her tail and one other waitress was sputtering at about half throttle. I ordered a Triple Steak burger with cheese plus fries and a chocolate shake.

When the food arrived at my table the Steakburger looked like a shrunken corpse(sort of like it had been microwaved); nothing like the gorgeous burger shown on their menu photos. Oh,...and the french fries were those shoestring fries. They looked too brown and were overly done or crisp. The chocolate shake was brought to my table much later and was more like a thick sundae and the splop of that fake whipped cream and that little cherry all made it rather a rotten experience. I was halfway through eating this hassle when the waitress finally brought my milkshake.

As the matter of fact, previously I had asked what appeared to be a head waitress that walked by where my milkshake was. She retorted rather rudely that, "it'll be out as quick as it can...my girls are doing the best they can." Then I wondered why this head waitress wasn't helping her waitresses out a little. All the head waitress was doing and had been doing for the previous 20 minutes was walking around maybe keeping an eye on things. I hollered at her, "Why don't you give your waitresses some help instead of sitting on your rear!" I know my Mother would have helped any waitresses working under my Mom if she had been a waitress.

Directly across the parking lot, right next door, is an IHOP restaurant. I had just come from there because every parking spot in IHOP's parking lot was taken and I could not get in at all. That's the only reason I gave Steak 'N Shake the time of day.

All in all I give that Steak 'N Shake a "half star" rating due to the sundae-ized milkshake, the measly little overcooked fries, and the microwaved candidate Triple Cheese Burger, plus the reluctance of the local management or the CEO(s) to provide decent enough oversight into having enough waitresses/waiters on hand, especially on a Saturday morning right off an exit off of Interstate 24.

Hey, if they want to lose business, that's their freedom, but I'll never go to a Steak 'N Shake again and their food is far below what their next door neighbor has to serve.
