I recently saw a charge on my store credit card statement that I didn't remember making. When I pulled up my account activity, I saw it was for magazines. A few years back, I had agreed to the 3 month trial and never got around to cancelling them. So I decided I'd do an internet search for the company and find out how to do it. Rip Off Report was the 3rd search result, and being curious, I clicked on it.

I empathize with the frustration the original posters experienced. I've done the telephone game before and it is annoying to have to call three different places to get what you need done. To be fair to the company, however, I was able to cancel my subscriptions online very easily, and I thought I should share the information in case anyone, like me, is looking to do the same thing.

On the main site for Synapse Group Inc., scroll to the bottom and you'll find a link to "Magazine Customer Service." To make it easier, I'll paste the link here: Magazine Customer Service and in case that doesn't work, here's the link to the main Synapse Group Inc. page: http://www.synapsegroupinc.com and here's a link to their Magazine Outlet site: https://store.magazineoutlet.com. A customer service link is located at the bottom of the page.

Once you are in the Magazine Customer Service section, it will ask for some information to help the program look up your subscriptions. You will be taken to a page that says "Select Your Magazine" along with a pull down menu. Click on the pull down menu and select your magazine. It will give you the details of your subscription - next renewal date, etc. Click on the "Next" button and it will take you through three more pages. The first will ask if you're sure you want to cancel, offering you a $2 deal to stay on as a subscriber. Select "No" from the options. This will take you to a second page that offers you various chachkas for keeping your subscription. Click "No thanks" and it will take you to a third page asking if you're absolutely sure you want to cancel. Click "Yes" and it will cancel your subscription and provide you with a confirmation number.

Once you're done with the first magazine, go to the top of the web page and click on the "Main Menu" tab. Select "Cancel Subscription" and it will take you back to the "Select Your Magazine" page. Please note, when you do this you are given the same confirmation number for each magazine.

I hope this helps. Aside from reading the initial complaints here, it took me maybe 5 minutes tops to cancel my subscriptions.
