Back in Febuary this year, my mom was rushed to the hospital. She had been in DKA and had pneumonia. My dad called my sister and I and told us that we needed to get to the hospital ASAP because my mom was having a cardiac arrest and she was getting CPR, and they said that she may not make it. After about 25 minutes of CPR, they were able to bring her back, but from her brain being without oxygen for so long, so now has an anoxic brain injury. She is unable to talk and walk. We tried to call T-mobile to cancel her account and they would not let us because we were not authorized users on the account. We then got Power of Attorney and still they claimed they didn't receive the faxes that were sent. We have been fighting with them for the last few months. We received a bill for March, April, and May for a total of $77.92. And we called and told them that we wanted it cancelled back in February, and that her phone was not used since then, but they did not care. Now months later, phone call after phone, faxes sent, and a certified letter to them explaining that my mom almost died and is now in a Nursing home and cannot talk or walk, they still continue to address the letters to my mom, even though my dad has Power of Attorney, and they wrote the following:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and express our regret that you have cancelled your T-Mobile services.

Our records indicate that we have not received payment on your outstanding balance of $277.92. Realizing that most often a missed payment is an oversight, this notice is a reminder that your account is now past due. Please mail payment today for the amount due so to prevent collection activity on your account.

We value you as a customer and thank you again for choosing T-mobile.

They are just heartless, we have told them time after time that she cannot talk, and that my dad has Power of Attorney, and yet they continue to address everything to my mom. She almost died, I cannot believe that they are so money hungry, that they are charging her these fees. They also would not tell us when her contract was up! Please help me, what can I do?
