After my first bill, when I noticed text message charges for my kids' phones, I begged to have texting blocked - T-Mobile said they couldn't do that. I ended up paying an extra 10.00/month (over our already extremely costly plan) to allow my kids texting due to the inevitable incoming text messages. I understood that was unlimited texting - and instead got an overage charge of hundreds of dollars for one month just for text messages.

When I called customer service they said it was not unlimited texting, that would have been approx. 10.00 more per month. I said I was sure the representative had said it WAS unlimited, and that they should have explained that for only 10.00 more it WOULD have been unlimited; I certainly would have gone with the unlimited plan! I pleaded with them to increase my plan by 10.00 now and make it retroactive, my reason being that they were either unwilling or unable to block the texting as I had originally asked, and that I had been lead to believe the approx. 10.00/month for texting for two of our four phones WAS unlimited.

I have spoken to them at length, and they are unwilling to compromise. IF THE TEXTING CAN'T BE BLOCKED, they should be willing to make it retroactive, ESPECIALLY since I was lead to believe it was unlimited, and no explanation had been given to me that for only 10.00 more it WOULD have been unlimited!

T-mobile how to resolve issues and possibly prevent outgoing texts....

AUTHOR: Taina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 04, 2008

I have been with T-mobile for four years and couldn't be happier. However this web site was to created to serve justice and I understand that you are not a happy customer. Any complaint I have had has always been resolved.

First you have to make sure that you are not yelling (
You can keep track of your messages by dialing #686# then hit send/talk button. Here's an excellent way to stop your texts from going out but I'm not sure if it will stop incoming. Ask to see your kid's phones and then call t-mobile and ask them to help you locate the "message center number" for your phone. When you find it it should start with +1206??????. Not sure if it changes by state but make sure it says "text messages service center" or something close to that name. Anyway, when you find it change it to any thing you like for example +15555555555. make sure that it's 11 digits and has a plus sign in front of it. Possibly, the people might stop texting your kids when your kids can't respond. I am sorry you are unhappy with them and I hope at least one solution, I have given you, works. Oh, the representative did give you the wrong information if you have just added text messaging. I have the unlimited for 9.99 for families but it was a promotion. I added this a long time ago. I think last year or maybe even two years ago. If your caught it a long time ago then you are owed some money. I wish you the best of luck. I sincerely hope I've helped you! Please let me know how it turns out. Remember be nice no matter how frustrated you get.

Ask them for credit on your bill as the last step.....

Texting

AUTHOR: Tyla - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 24, 2008

It is true that T-Mobile does not have the ability to block text messages. If you change your text plan, we can backdate it ONLY to the beginning of that statement cycle, which we can do only once or twice a year as a curtousy. Also, I was still working there less than a month ago, and there were no unlimited text messaging packages for $9.99. There were some promos offered in the past, but 9.99 per line would get you 1000 text messages, and if you were on a family plan, $19.99 would get you unlimed texts for all numbers on that account.

9.99 per month gets you unlimited text messaging

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 18, 2008

I know, I just checked my bill. I had to buy it because my son uses it all the time. I bought that plan a few months ago. It's $9.99, and it is UNLIMITED text messaging! I'd call Tmobile and talk to someone that has half a brain...
