My daughter has a Sidekick III which was under warranty. The backlight on the screen suddenly went blank and I called T-Mobile to replace the phone. They sent me a new phone and I sent back the old phone. They had me check on the water damage notification and they said that there was no water damage. Now I see my bill is outrageous this month and it is because they charged me $107 and on the bill said this was for out of warranty phone. When I called and spoke to the billing department they said that it was because the phone had water damage. Now, the bill says out of warranty and T-Mobile says water damage, which is it?
I called back and spoke to a supervisor and told him that the phone was working fine just the backlight was not working and there was no way the phone could have water damage. He said that there are all different things that can cause water damage including sweat from your body on the phone. This phone if it is not being used, is ALWAYS in its phone case. My daughter is neurotic about keeping the phone in good condition so if she is not using it, it is in its case and not being sweat on!!!!
T-Mobile, you should be ashamed of yourself. I will speak long and loud to EVERYONE I come in contact with to tell them what a dishonest company you are running. Unfortunately my contract is not up until October 2008 but the minute that happens, I am switching to another company. Consumers BEWARE!!!!

Yeah T-Mobile. I didn't get satisfaction with one supervisor, so I called back and spoke to a second one who was willing to look into the matter. It took 24 hours (while I was sitting back biting my nails to the quick) but she called back and told me that to keep me as a customer, they would eat the cost of the phone. The moral is, if the first supervisor will not help you, just keep calling back until you talk to one that will help you. Thanks T-Mobile, for doing the right thing.

If you think that the grass will be greener by switching to Verizon, Sprint or ATT, you'll be in for an unpleasant surprise. I've had them all....Verizon in particular has a very "blame the customer" orientation regarding defective phones....I got the water damage story from twice from Verizon. You want real trouble....try Sprint and you'll come running back to T-Mobile.....
