I canceled my T-Mobile Sevice in March. Honestly, I dont look at my bill.
I was on a flat rate that I never exceded. My bill was always about the same,
After I canceled my service, 2 months later, I got a bill for $5.99.
I called and they said it was for Megaphone.
What the hell is Megaphone and why am I paying for it, after I canceled. Megaphone allows you to 3 RingTones a month FREE!!!
Free???? It is $5.99 per month. I guess that is close to free. But the fact is, i NEVER ordered it. She looked it up and said I had been paying for it since October last year.
I asked her how many times I downloaded a ring tone, she said NONE!!! Then why was I being charged? Becasue it was on the bill, she said. Huh???
But I dont think I ordered it. Look, i am a boring 50 year old. I dont use additional ring tones, like a teenager. She took off ONE of the 9 charges, becasue I should not have been charged after my phone was canceled in March. Why was I charged at all?
Again, because it was on the bill. OH. that almost makes sense.
I was RIPPED OFF for $5.99 x 9 months. Oh well. She said she could not refund anything more than 60 days.
So, why dont you take off 2 charges. Because I was 3 days past my 60 days in reporting this.
WARNING: Check Your Bill.

A perfect example of the employees of T-Hell. This "REP" has no idea what he/she is talking about. A megatone is a "one time" charge for a single ringtone and costs $1.99. This Megaphone service is a 3rd party provider and can be subscribed to from the handset or the internet. Some kid could have entered your phone number on a website and then your subscribed. T-Mobile doesn't care because they get a 40% or so kickback from these services. Like any other big company, it's all about that all mighty dollar. This rep obviously never got a "5 - World Class" call.

it is not called a megaphone, it is a megatone, and that is what is used to describe when a download is purchased, specifically a ringtone. when it shows in our system at the rate of 5.99 we know it was a subscription. It appears under your bill as a premiuim service. I.E. a download... AND the only way you charged for this subscription is by signing up for it directly through the phone itself, solely through the downloads tab in your t-zones. this is not something that T-mobile has access to just slap onto your account at any given time. As for the refunds, policy states you can dispute a charge up to 60 days only. Sorry. Hopefully since it has been removed and what we were able to refund for you has been done, you are no longer having problems. My suggestions for anyone out there with children or teenagers, kids these days are very smart and definately know how to work there way around a cell phone and it doesn't take long to find out how to access the web and begin downloading things, i have 2 of my own and i know this. there is a way to lock your phone so they cannot just pick it up and start charging things on your bill. I would suggest to lock the phone in the future to avoid any mishaps down the road
