It is stupid that a company like taxbrain.com was able to be licensed to do income taxes. They knew that they sent the wrong banking routing number to the IRS on January 16,2010 and they did nothing to try and correct it before they were to receive the tax refunds for January 29, 2010.

When you call the company to find out what is going on with the transactions they only thing they will tell you is that it was sent to the wrong bank. If you ask anymore questions they reply we can not tell you anything else.

What is even worse is that the federal government nor the IRS is going to do anything about this to correct the situation. Now the tax payers have to pay the price of having to wait 4 to 6 more weeks before they receive their tax returns.

From my understanding it has effected over 15,000 tax payer. This just one incident. How many more times does it have to happen before anything is done about it?
Nobody is taking responsibility for this action and no apologies are given.

a fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual.

Embezzlement
is the act of dishonestly appropriating or secreting assets, usually

financial in nature, by one or more individuals to whom such assets have been entrusted.

Extortion, outwresting, or exaction is a criminal offense which occurs when a person unlawfully obtains either money, property or services from a person, entity, or institution, through coercion. In the United States, extortion may also be committed as a federal crime across a computer system.

In order for these so called mistakes from happening again, the tax company that made the mistake should be fined $500,000.00 for each mistake they made, and they should have to pay each taxpayer and additional $5,000.00 in order for these mistakes to be avoided in the future.

The bank that received the funds should be fined the interest they made on that money if they don't automatically return the money the next business day.

And the IRS should issue a check to the taxpayer that same week that they receive the money instead of making people wait another 4 to 6 weeks to receive their refunds.

I know that my suggestion is not going to do any good. But what is funny is that the IRS can and will demand money from the taxpayer when they owe it to them but, the taxpayer has to wait on the IRS and receive their money when they get d**n good and ready to send it to them. What else is funny they can collect interest on the money a taxpayer owes them but, a taxpayer can't collect interest on the money the IRS owes them.

If something doesn't change and new laws don't start getting put in place in order to stop these so called mistakes then I will quit filing tax returns and then when the IRS finds me and tells me I need to pay back taxes I will accept to pay the taxes owed at that time but, I will not pay the interest and I will not pay their so called fines either.
