"A Picture is worth a thousand words" If only you could see the pics. Anyway, the installers came in and installed the granite counter. All looked great except a blemish, discoloration, in an obvious area in the front. They completed it in a short time, pleased. The installers said, "we are done and please sign here to show that we actually came in". A piece of paper black and white cheaply photographed, blurred signature required paper.

Always inspect before installation

Did you not inspect the granite counter top before installation?
Natural materila, i.e., marble, granite, or wood will always have imperfections.
What did you expect the granite company or Home Depot to do for you?
Exchange the counter top?
If the blemish is in the granite then you cannot sand away the blemish.

I like it. Its not an ugly, dull blob. It looks like its supposed to be there, and there are some white swirls through it.
Do you have an amount of time where you can change your mind? Should be allowed to exchange it if your not happy with it.

This is common.

Whenever you buy something that has an organic design, or a "natural occuring quality", you will allways run the "risk" of getting a pattern that looks off centered or un-balanced at first. Perhaps they should have explained the possibility of that, but, since it has been installed, try to look at it as a unique feature. I'm sure some of your guests will find it appealing believe it or not.
