The first day Tuesday, nothing was done to the car the only thing that was done was a diagnostics. I eventualy realized why, it was because not only was the transmission bad but also the engine. I had no idea that both the engine and the tranmission where bad, and when he gave me the diagnostics on the the car he didnt even mention the engine was bad but he did say the oil was low. (now of course i did have the car checked by a certified mechanic and all he did when he checked the oil was pull the dipstick out and noticed little metal chips in the oil which is a clear sign there is major engine damage)
But of course when mike checked the oil he didnt mention that, only that my oil was low.

so then came day 2 wednesday and i was told the transmission was only going to cost 1,500.00 no more, but of course he found other problems that cost 100,125,175. which brought the total to 2,014.14 after tax, and when i had him tow the car on monday evening i told him all i had was $600 cash and if i could pay the rest in payments he agreed so when he told me about these other problems i felt obligated to get them fixed and i figured he knows about my $$ situation so maybe hes helping me get everything fixed all at once. So i agreed to the other repairs and they all had to do with the transmision except an axle.

Then came day 3 Thursday and the transmission was still not done. And i called him stressing the fact i have 2 daughters and me and my wife both work so we need that car back asap.

Then came day 4 Friday and he sd it would be done by today so i got off work at about 4:30 went to pick up my wife and kids cause she had to go to work that night so she was going to drop me and the kids off and we could pick up the car and I could go home with the kids, and my wife went straight to work. When i got to the shop the car still wasnt done and Mike said it would be another 30min, they had forgot to put one part on, so i waited with the kids. At least 1 hr went by and the car still wasnt done and while we where waiting i decided to pay the $600 and write him the rest in the checks he requested, that way when the car was done i could just take off cause the girls where getting cranky. next thing you know he checks the car then comes back and said when they where testing it and where switching through the gears there is a rod that runs through the transmission that popped loose and it was going to have to wait till Monday till they could finish it. So he failed to tell me then the engine was knocking , i mean if you where going through the gears you had to turn the car on and had to hear it knocking to test it of course for preasure leaks and to obviously go through the gears. But of course all he was doing was stalling for time he already had my 600 cash, he knew from day one the engine was knocking when he did the diagnostics and when he checked the oil the engine was bad when there was obviosly metal in the oil he knew if he told me then the engine was bad i would have never decided to get the transmission fixed, i mean who realy would fix a transmission for over 2k when i know i didnt have all the money to fix it plus after fixing the transmission i would still have to go and fix the engine with no money to get it fixed i mean how could i, i didnt even have the money to fix the transmission. I was really upset but he gave me a loaner truck but he sd you have to fill it up before returning it. My thought was i shouldnt have to pay for anything else casue my car should have been done and i should have been driving off with my car not his truck and with gas prices being so high a truck obviously uses more gas then my car and him knowing i didnt even have all the money to get my transmission fixed so i didnt put any gas in it but i only drove from his shop to my house then to work monday then straight to his shop, so the gas gauge moved maybe the with of only 2 gas gauge needles, which wasnt even a third of a quarter tank of gas.

Then came day 5 Monday after all weekend without my car so the car was already paid for and he had my post-dated checks for the remaining balance. i got off work and went straight to his shop take in mind i still didnt know the engine was knocking i was so excited to get my keys and drive this car home thinking it was going to be like driving a new car, especialy with the transmission rebuilt. then i get to the shop and after he hands me the keys he starts refering to when he was telling me about the oil being low then i knew something else was wrong then he eventualy spit it out and sd yeah the engine is knocking i sd excuse me in disbelief i sd the engine is what he sd yeah the engine is knocking i sd how bad he sd lets go check it out and the engine was knocking so hard i knew it was bad and he sd i know a couple of guys who could help you get it fixed and gave me there card, and also sd well if you want at least take it home test drive it and if you want you can bring it back and ill take the transmission back, i mean i realy didnt know what to think so many things where going through my head everything all at once so i sd well let me drive it home to see exactly how bad it is and the car drove even worse then before. I made it home fired up i mean i already gave this guy 600 dollars and the car is driving even worse then before. i called him and he said if you want to bring it back i can take the transmission out and give you back your post-dated checks, i sd what about my 600 dollars he sd no imm keeping that i sd well then you can take all the parts you put inton it back and at lest give me some of my cash back he sd no so i sd well if i take it back then im not giving you the shell to the transmission casue im goin to just sell the car part by part on ebay or something and i need to make up the money i lost he sd no i need the whole transmission so of course i felt cornnered he had my other 1414.14 in checks i wanted those back i wasnt going to fix the engine i didnt have any money and he had my $600 cash so i sd well let me get the engine checked and ill let you know what i want to do so that Wednesday i had a certified mechanic come look at it and i had told this mechanic the whole situation but when he went to check the car there was a 4foot by 3foot puddle of transmission fluid on the ground and he checked it all the work and the engine and told me the transmission was still leaking bad obvioisly and that that was part of Mike;s job of course so he had it 5 full days and still didnt do his job right casue his plan the whole time was to take my money thats obviously all he ever was planing i mean why would it take you 5 full days to fix a car and stil didnt fix it right!!!!! so then i decided mike ill give you the whole transmission and i too the car to him and he had one of his shop guys give me my checks and when he was done taking the transmission out i had a tow truck tow it to my house immideatly cause by this time i couldnt trust the guy and when i got the car back my axle was missin and my airintake was gone and thats all i noticed and im not even a mechanic so no telling what else he took off the car. i called him and told him thats when he replied you owe me gas for the truck you owe me $20 so if you want your parts back you need to give me the $20 for the truck and we had and exchange of words and thats when he sd ill just keep your parts if i want so that was it i was tired of getting taken advantage of so i wrote this report to warn anyone everyone about The Transmission shop in Garland Texas, 1403 Forest Ln Garland, TX 75042, the one accross the street from Garland high School and behind the Jack in the box.

In my obinion he didnt loose hardly anything if anything over all of this i mean think about it now he has a fully rebuilt transmission that all he has to do to the next guy is a simple swap that involves no time to rebuild and no money on parts he already has my $600 and as far as time he didnt spend alot of valuable time on my car it took him 5 full days to do the transmissioin all he did was work on my trans with his spare time, cause he knew from day one the engine was bad. All his parts he took back so no money lost on parts, so what am i missing where is his big loose in the deal there is none and he gains even more money on the same trans cause the next guy will pay the same 2k for the trans plus he has my $600 cash, and he still has the other parts to my car that dont even belong to him my axle and my airintake system and god knows what else he decided to take from my car!!! So to anyone and everyone who has the opertunity to read this dont even waste your time on this shop if you see him online run the other way hes only after the money and doesnt even do a good job on the transmission mine was leaking so good luck with your trans but deffanettly dont take into this shop or ill be the one saying i told you so and i had to learn the hard way im still out $600 and all i ahve to show is a car in the parking lot with a bunch of missing parts!!!

After completion of repairs we test drove Mr. K's car and we noticed his engine knocking and we called him & told him we thought his engine was bad. We felt sorry for him since this would probably total the car. So we offered to pull the transmission out so he could sell the car at a junkyard. It was our suggestion again, to help him out. Our expenses include towing ,C.V Axle,Engine Rear Main Seal,Transmission Fluid,Transmission Cooler & 15 hours labor. We and Mr K agreed to $600.00. He kept his axle & cooler. Again this is what we ageed to.

Another thing, if it was so obvious that the engine was bad why didn't Mr K know his engine was bad? Once again, he agreed to the terms and left. A few days later I guess he changed his mind and called us and was demanding some money back. I had already made an agreement with Mr K and we thought if we give say another $100.00 back he would just call back in a few more days! No more trying to help Mr K.
