Against my better judgment, I went back to Tire Kingdom yesterday. It was Sunday, and my tire had been slowly loosing air for two days. I assumed that I must have picked up a nail. I spoke to the man there, and he pulled my car into the back. He came out about 20 minutes later. He stated, Good news is that you picked up a nail bad news it is on the side wall so you need to buy 2 tires. Since I have had issues with this place before, I called my husband. The clerk became rude and asked why I was calling him. I explained that previously, Tire Kingdom had not changed the oil filters during the oil changes, I since that time, my husband and I always get a second opinion. The gentleman showed me the nail hole and I described it to my husband.
My husband advised me that the tires were still under warranty since they only had 6000 miles on them. I asked them to fill up the tire, and they refused. I then asked them to put on the spare. They did and I tipped them $10.00. The entire time, the gentleman tried to change my mind, when I refused, he went in the back. My car was returned to me about 10 minutes later.
Today, I went to Gerald's tires, where the tires were warranted. They pulled out the tire, and behold no nail hole. Where the nail hole was, there was a slash in the tire. So, my tires warranty was negated.
I had no reason to do this since I would not have had to pay for the replacement. To say that I was upset is the understatement of the year! I purchased the tire and went back to Tire Kingdom. I asked the gentleman if he remembered me from yesterday. He answered yes. I reminded him of the conversation yesterday, and I pulled out the receipt from Gerald's showing the tire was slashed. He then stated he noticed the slash, but he didn't tell me about it because the tire needed to be replaced anyway. He then became argumentative and abusive. I asked for the number to corporate and was given Jason Bowsky, area director. I called and left him a message.
Mr. Bowsky called me back. He stated that Tire Kingdom did not slash my tire; furthermore, he began to threaten me when I told him I planned to contact the BBB, rip off report, and all of their customers telling them of what happened there. He then became abusive threatening to sue me for liable.
I did not ask for the cost of my tire; in fact, I informed them I wanted their practices changed rather than get a refund. This place needs to be avoided at all costs.

First of all, I will say that I have been in the automotive field for almost ten years and I have worked at many different shops. I came to Tire Kingdom in 2003. This is by far the best company I have worked for in my career for many reasons. First and foremost, this company cares more for its customers than any other in my past. I've seen them do more things for people to "make it right" than I can comprehend. I can honestly say I didn't agree with some of the measures that they went through to please an angry customer.
In this case, I do have insider information on what went on, and I can say that this claim is untrue. The shop that this lady claims "slashed her tire" , I used to manage and the same people are still working there, I hired them. I have six ASE certifications and never let anyone else work on my car, never. I even tint my own windows. I can say that at the shop in question, I would give them my keys and tell them " fix it" .
The gentleman that was at the counter that day I would trust with my ATM code to my bank account. This is the reason he was and is still working with Tirekingdom. He would not slash a tire to make a sale nor slash a tire because he did not make a sale, it is not in him. I personally witnessed him drive 22 miles to put a spare on for a customer in distress so that same customer could go back to a different shop to have her tire replaced under warranty. Again, the things the managers do to please Tire kingdoms customers. It's demanded by this company because its the right thing to do, to go above and beyond to help the public. This company pays us for a behavior, they tell us what is expected, and if we don't push to have the happiest customers in the buisness, we will not work for Tirekingdom long.
On another note, I personally worked for Jason Bowsky as his assistant manager for over a year, and witnessed him also go above and beyond to service our customers. I can probably name 50 customers that would drive over 50 miles to get their vehicle serviced with Jason at another location. He cares about Tirekingdoms customers as if they were family. In closing, I will say this again. No one slashed a tire. Tire kingdom's customer service standerds are high and nothing like this claim would be tolerated. See for yourself.

Why
AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, November 21, 2007
On Sunday afternoon there is not a lot of places you can get a tire repaired. Since Tire Kingdom is the only ones open in a 5 mile radius, I assumed (and that was my mistake) that they could repair a tire. Never in my wildest dreams did I think anyone would do damage to a tire. I can expect to be lied to (you need to replace rather than fix) but I did not deserve to have my tire slashed.

WHY DID YOU GO THERE ANYWAY?

Your thread states you had problems with them before, so why in the heck go back? Any business that I am not satisfied with, I never return, so I don't end up making the same mistake twice!!!!!!!!!
