Well, I don't think the dealership knowingly tried to rip this person off. I mean, Like the guy said, the contracts are clearly different. The only thing I can say is, other countries don't provide the same courtesy. If you purchase a car in Italy, Spain, France, wherever, I doubt they have contracts in English. It would be nice if we did provide contracts in Spanish though, but again, they are supposed to know English, it is required for Citizenship so I am still confused as to why they did not know basic English.

Steve is correct. If you live here, you'd better be able to read and write in ENGLISH. If you can't, then bring someone that can! As far as your conspiracy theory against Toyota, I hope you get run over by a Land Cruiser. My wife has been rear ended twice at high speeds in her Toyota, and both times she has walked away without injury. Couple that with no maintenance fees and great gas mileage and you have one heck of a car. As far as I, as well as most people on this forum go, blow it out your a$$.

There are Toyota Dealers that require SPANISH LANGUAGE CONTRACTS that MUST be used if a customer only speaks Spanish!! What if, HYPOTHETICALLY, the Dealer DID NOT abide by their own rules and regulations?

I don't feel bad about this because it is a requirement of our federal laws for immigration that anyone coming here LEGALLY must be able to read/write/speak the English language. If they cannot, they are here illegally and deserve what they get.

Lease vs. Purchase is clearly spelled out on the contract. All you have to do is be able to read. If you can't read, that's your problem. The law only requires that the terms be fully disclosed, and they are. No ripoff here.
